Background and Participation in the Battle of Badr
Hazrat Abdullah bin Urfatah(ra) migrated to Abyssinia along with Hazrat Jafar(ra) bin Abi Talib. In a narration, Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas‘ud(ra) states, “The Messenger(sa) of Allah sent us to Negus and we numbered about eighty.” (Musnad Ahmad bin Hanbal, Vol. 2, p. 201, Hadith no. 4400, Musnad Abdullah bin Mas’ood, Alim-ul-Kutb, Beirut, 1998).
