Background and Participation in Battles

Hazrat Dhahaak bin Abd Amr^(ra) belonged to the tribe of Banu Dinar bin Najjar. His father’s name was Abd Amr and his mother’s name was Sumairah bint Qais. He and his brother, Nu‘man bin Abd Amr^(ra) both took part in the Battle of Badr and the Battle of Uhud. Hazrat Nu‘man^(ra) passed away in the battle of Uhud.
