Background, Participation in Battles and Martyrdom

Hazrat Mas‘ud bin Khalda’s name was Mas‘ud bin Khalda, however, it has been mentioned as Mas‘ud bin Khalid in some narrations. He belonged to the Ansar tribe of Banu Zuraiq. He participated in the battles of Badr and Uhud. According to some narrations, it is believed that he was martyred during the incident of Bir-e-Ma‘unah, whereas according to other narrations he was martyred during the Battle of Khaybar.
