Background and Participation in Battles
Hazrat Nu’man(ra) bin Sinan was among the Ansar and was from the Banu Nu‘man family which belonged to the Khazraj tribe. Ibn-e-Hisham writes that Hazrat Nu’man(ra) was a freed slave of Banu Nu’man. Whereas, Ibn Sa‘d has written that he was a freed slave of Banu Ubaid bin Adiyy. Hazrat Nu’man(ra) bin Sinan had the opportunity to participate in the Battle of Badr and Uhud.
