Background and Participation in Battles

Hazrat Rifa‘ah^(ra) bin Amr Ansari’s title was Abu Waleed, and he belonged to the tribe of Banu Auf bin Khazraj. His mother’s name was Umme Rifa‘ah. He took part in the second pledge of Aqabah along with seventy companions. He participated in the battle of Badr and Uhud in which he was martyred.
