Hazrat Thabit bin Khalid Ansari belonged to the tribe of Banu Maalik bin Najjar. He took part in the battles of Badr, Uhud and Yamamah. It was during the Battle of Yamamah that he attained martyrdom. However, according to some, he attained martyrdom during the incident at Bi’r-e-Maunah. (Al-Isti’ab, Vol. 1, p. 198, Dar-ul-Jamil, Beirut, 1992)
