Hazoor delivered the concluding sermon on the subject of the Divine attributes of Al-Shaheed and Al-Shahid (The Witness, The Observer) today. As ever elucidating the concept with reference to Quranic verses, Ahadith and various writings Hazoor said that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him) enjoined that the best witness is one who gives testimony even before it is requested and that the testimony of one who breaks a trust is not valid. Hazoor stressed that it is incumbent upon one to give a fair and truthful testimony for the sake of Allah even when it is against one’s parents and near and dear ones. Hazoor added that one is enjoined to avoid the impurity of falsehood and make one’s testimony with justice being ever mindful of taqwa, he added that Islam recognises the rights of the enemy in that despite one’s enmity, no matter how difficult is seems, one should treat one’s adversaries with utmost fairness. Hazoor explained the doctrinal mention that man’s limbs will bear witness regarding his deeds. He added that the Holy Quran bears witness that the Holy Prophet’s (peace and blessings on him) triumph over his opponents will be like the triumph of the Prophet Moses (on whom be peace) over his enemies.
Hazoor expounded the Quranic testimony of the affinity between the prophethood of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him) and that of Hadhrat Moses (on whom be peace) in that the succession of the prophethood of Moses (on whom be peace) concluded on the Messiah that Jesus (on whom be peace) was, who came 1,400 years after Moses (on whom be peace) while divinely appointed vicegerents had established Moses’ (on whom be peace) testimony in the intervening period. Accordingly it is evident that the “Muhammadi Messiah” should have come 1,400 years after the Holy Prophet’s (peace and blessings be on him) advent to revive and re-establish the message of Islam.
