Today Huzoor(aba) continued his series of Friday Sermons relating to Divine attributes and further expanded the subject in correlation with the means of Allah the Exalted revealing His message to His chosen servants through Kashf or spiritual vision.
Huzoor(aba) recited verse 52 of Surah Al Shura (42:52) and with reference elucidated the phenomenon of the visions that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him) received during his blessed life.
Among the several traditions that Huzoor(aba) related the earliest goes back to when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him) was 10 years old and experienced a vision when alone in a desert of two persons encountering him who could come in contact with him without him feeling their touch. These persons incised the Holy Prophet’s (peace and blessings be on him) chest and spoke of removing rancour and envy from his heart and replacing it with compassion and mercy.
Huzoor(aba) further recounted the celebrated tradition of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him) meditating in the Hira cave when Angel Gabriel (on whom be peace) manifested himself and brought the message of Allah the Exalted urging Muhammad (peace and blessings be on him) to read what now constitutes the opening verses of Surah Al-`Alaq. Next Huzoor(aba) related the subsequent vision in which some verses of Surah Al-Muddaththir were revealed through Gabriel (on whom be peace). Adding, Huzoor(aba) recounted a few traditions describing visions whereby Gabriel (on whom be peace) would appear and recap the fundamentals of Islam with the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him). At times, while in his company, the Companions of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him) would also share the experience of these visions. Huzoor(aba) related a few visions received during the holy wars that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him) participated in, these visions illustrate that Divine help materialized in all sorts of form in time of need.
Huzoor(aba) said that indeed the “ascension” (Mairaj) of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him) was a most magnificent Kashf or vision whereby he experienced meeting the great prophets of Allah.
In describing a vision of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him) citing Dajjal (anti-Christ) Huzoor(aba) observed that the portrayal given for “Messiah” here was different from the description given for Hazrat Isa (on whom be peace) in another tradition. Huzoor(aba) explained that this was so because in this vision that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him) received, he had actually seen the “Promised Messiah” and not Hazrat Isa (on whom be peace) as the “Messiah”.
