In todays sermon, Huzoor (at) discussed the attribute of Al-Muhaimin, in continuation of a previous sermon delivered on 8 August, 2008. The translation of this Arabic word is The Protector, One Who is a Guardian, One Who stands as a witness for His chosen ones and provides security from everything. Al Muhaimin is the One Who brings about peace after fear. It is this attribute of Allah Almighty that protects His beloved through miraculous events, and those who benefit the most are prophets of God, whose truthfulness is thus revealed to the world at large. In this sermon, Huzoor (at) elaborated on this attribute by narrating some incidents from the chronicles of Ahmadiyya history.
The Promised Messiah (as) states that he has received every blessing of God due to his complete obedience to his Master, the Holy Prophet (saw), and God chose him to reveal the truth about the Holy Prophet (saw) and his message of Islam to the world in this day and age. He said that the Holy Prophet (saw) encountered five such occasions in his life where he was threatened to the extent that he nearly lost his life. Had he not been a true prophet from God, he would not have survived these incidents:
The fact that Holy Prophet (saw) emerged victorious on all counts is a proof in itself that he was a true Prophet of God and that God was with him at every step of the way.
The Promised Messiah (as) states that he himself was faced with five such occasions where God Himself protected him:
At all these occasions the opponents were unsuccessful. Huzoor (at) briefly elaborated on the trial of Martin Clark, explaining that he was a missionary doctor. A young man of dubious nature, who was a conventional liar and who frequently changed his religion from one to another, accused the Promised Messiah (as) stating that he was the one who had asked this young man to murder Dr. Martin Clark. During the proceedings of this trial, the opponents webbed a grand conspiracy to implicate the innocent victim, but Allah Almighty informed the Promised Messiah (as) that He would safeguard him from all harm. And so it happened that he was released with all due respect. The Magistrate himself declared to an employee of the court that an angel seems to protect this man from all harm. Thus, the truth was revealed in favor of the Promised Messiah (as). During this trial, Hadhrat Khalifatul Massih II (ra) was also told in a vision that God shall never forsake His beloved.
Huzoor (at) mentioned that the Promised Messiah (as) has written in his book Haqeeqatul Wahi, that during the case filed against him involving Mr. Karam Din in Jehlum, he used to recite the following prayer fervently:
Lord, everything serves Thee;then Lord protect us and help us and have mercy on us.
[As a side note, Huzoor (at) said that in a dream recently, he was also indicated that he should advise the Jamaat members to recite this prayer frequently.] Then Huzoor (at) narrated a few revelations of the Promised Messiah (as) in which God Almighty has promised that He shall protect him and safeguard him against all the challenges he faces from his opponents, such that he shall emerge victorious at all occasions.
Huzoor (at) narrated the situation the Promised Messiah (as) was faced with at the time of his fathers demise and how God comforted him with the words Is Allah not sufficient for His servant?, which wiped away all emotion of fear and grief that the Promised Messiah (as) was feeling.
Hadhrat Mirza Bashir Ahmad (ra) has also writes about how God Himself was the Guardian of the Promised Messiah (as). He was skilled in swimming and horseback riding. At one occasion, while swimming, he almost drowned but was saved by an older man, who he had never seen before and never saw again in the surrounding area. At another instance, he was riding a horse that became uncontrollable, so much so that it crashed into a tree, which proved to be fatal for the horse, but the Promised Messiah (as) was miraculously saved without any injury.
Hadhrat Khalifatul Massih II (ra) narrates an incident from his own life about a man who was charged with the murder of his wife. This man had taken the impression after listening to Ahmadi orators that the Ahmadis were opposed to and hostile towards every religion. So he originally set out with the intention of killing the Imam of the Ahmadis, and thus went to Qadian, where he found out that the Khalifa was in another village by the name of Pherochichi. When he reached there, he saw the Khalifa in the company of another man who was carrying a gun. Thinking that this was not the right occasion to attack the Khalifa, he went home, where he ended up killing his own wife and thus was hanged to death. These are not mere coincidences, but the help of God that protects His chosen people.
Huzoor (at) also narrated an incident from Fiji. When the Ahmadis there tried to set up a mission house, they were faced with much opposition, and were threatened that their mission house would be set on fire. When one amongst these opponents, by the name of Abu Bakr did manage to lit the mission house on fire, the fire was miraculously extinguished, leaving little or no harm. But in result of a prayer by an Ahmadi man, the house of Abu Bakr was burnt down as a sign of God for His beloved.
Huzoor (at) ended the sermon with a prayer that may Allah keep us away from all harm and protect us from all sorts of evil. Ameen.
