The Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) said: ‘According to the teachings of Islam the basis of the faith of Islam is only two-fold. Or it could be said that its teaching is based on two main objectives. Firstly, understanding of One God and recognition of His existence; to love and truly obey Him in line with the requisites of love and obedience. The second objective is to expend all one’s faculties in service and compassion of God’s people and to be grateful and gracious to all, from a king to an ordinary person…’
He also said: ‘Teaching of Islam is two-fold: firstly, rights of Allah and secondly, rights of mankind. Rights of Allah include considering Him worthy of obedience and rights of mankind include compassion for God’s creation. It is not good to hurt someone simply due to religious differences.’
There are numerous other similar discourses and writings of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) which draw our attention to our obligations; a matter that the world is currently in need of. This indeed is the teaching which when presented to the world astonishes them. When further features and details of Islamic teachings are explained their astonishment increases because on a general level non-Muslims have only been told by anti-Islam circles that Islam is an extremist faith which usurps rights of others. They refer to the practices of certain Muslim organisations as proof of this which unfortunately some Muslim organisations and people are perpetrating.
Reality is unfolded when example of the Holy Qur’an, blessed model of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) the Rightly Guided Khilafat e Rashida and other Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) is presented before the world. And when it is explained to them that the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) was sent in this age with this teaching which Ahmadiyya Muslims try to disseminate as well as practice, the world takes note! Huzoor said he has observed that when the facts are expounded well it has a remarkable effect even on hardened detractors.
Today Huzoor gave some details of how during Huzoor’s recent Irish tour Islamic teachings as explained by him during his Friday sermon and his address at a reception had positive effect on our guests in Galway. Huzoor said Ahmadis must have seen the broadcast of both the events on MTA. Furthermore Huzoor expounded Islamic teachings during interviews, talks with politicians and various well-versed people which were very well received. Huzoor said it is a good quality of the Irish that they openly express their positive or negative impressions, or if they do not like what they hear they keep their own counsel and do not praise something needlessly.
The day after Huzoor arrived in Ireland the Jama’at there had organised a meeting at the Parliament House with some Parliamentarians including the Speaker of the national parliament. He is a very affable, open-minded and fair person. He said he knows about the Jama’at and values its works and said that although the Jama’at in Ireland was small it was very active. He has also personally experienced the efforts of the Jama’at in Africa. Huzoor gave him further information about Jama’at’s services in Africa including building hospitals, providing fresh water and other humanitarian works. What amazed the Speaker the most was that students in our schools in Africa were free to follow their own religious studies and were not bound to study Islam. He was surprised because Christian schools only teach the Bible. The Speaker also said that there are also Christian extremists in places but Christianity is never blamed for their acts. However, wrongdoing by any Muslim is attributed to his religion.
Huzoor said he met many parliamentarians in a cordial atmosphere. Huzoor told them about the advent of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) in accordance with the prophecy of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him). Perhaps some politicians think that we like to keep ourselves separate from other Muslims. One question was put to Huzoor about the possibility of a platform to come together with our Muslim opponents for talks. Huzoor told them that we are always ready but the other side would not come. Huzoor explained that recently BBC planned a programme in which our young team member was invited to present his views and the other side was also invited. When they realised that an Ahmadi was going to be on the programme they refused to come. They know they do not have anything in response to our facts and arguments except lies. Huzoor said freedom of women was also discussed at the Irish Parliament which satisfied them. As regards sectarianism Huzoor informed them that sectarian divide in Islam was prophesised long ago and it was also the fundamental reason for the formation of Ahmadiyyat Jama’at. All the information was very well received.
Five of the parliamentarians Huzoor met in Dublin also came to the Friday night reception in Galway which took place after the inauguration of the mosque. Other guests at the reception included five senators, members of the City Council, Chief Superintendent of Galway police, representative of the Bishop of Galway, who is also a Bishop in his own right, councillors, doctors, teachers, engineers, lawyers and others. The reception took place in a cordial atmosphere.
An Irish politician said that the reception had uplifted his spirits and he was most impressed with Huzoor’s address. He said his view on Islam had completely changed. He said he has a friend who lives in Saudi Arabia and what he tells him about Islam was contrary to what was heard at the reception.
Deputy Mayor of Galway County said that he was delighted to see various faiths coming together at the reception and he welcomed Islam Ahmadiyyat to Galway.
Deputy Speaker of the national parliament said the reception was a lovely event and Huzoor’s address full of love and peace was most encouraging. He remarked that the message of love was most powerful.
Another guest said that he was delighted to attend and would now take the message he received to others.
Another guest said he was heartened to see people from different backgrounds coming together at the reception. He hoped that the reception would herald open-mindedness in Irish society so that everyone could live together in a positive atmosphere and an excellent future could be forged for Ireland.
Huzoor remarked such is the teaching of Islam which the Jama’at spreads which even compels others to adopt it.
Another guest remarked that undoubtedly people are frightened of Islam these days. However he felt that a lesson in religious tolerance was conveyed at the reception and Huzoor had made the guests aware of the Islamic teaching of love and peace which they found most assuring. He felt he had learnt a lot from the event.
A guest felt that Huzoor had touched upon very significant matters in his address and everyone listening to Huzoor appeared impressed. He also remarked that Huzoor had mentioned the contradictions within the world of Islam today.
Many guest expressed that they had found the true teachings of Islam at the reception. Many felt Huzoor’s address was replete with wisdom and touched hearts. They were impressed with Huzoor’s message of peace and his elucidation of Jihad and felt that the name of the mosque conveyed a message of harmony and accord.
A councillor from Galway County wished for our message to resonate in the world and also wished that we become true ambassadors of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him). Huzoor remarked that here we see Christians not only extending respect to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) but also praying for his message to be disseminated.
A lady guest from the Education Foundation Dublin commended the name of the mosque and said that Huzoor’s address informed her about the status of Hazrat Maryam in Islam and how the Holy Qur’an has extoled her. She found this a charming aspect which should be told to all the Christians who are against Islam. She said she did not have any knowledge of Islam but was suitably impressed after listening to Huzoor’s address.
A lady journalist guest said that she was not familiar with Islam but had spent the entire day at the mosque and had listened to the Friday sermon and also Huzoor’s address at the reception. She said she could only deduce from all this that Islam was a peaceable religion and she had experienced first-hand how affable Ahmadis were!
A lady guest said that the only picture of Islam she had was the one fed by the media. However, after listening to Huzoor’s address she appreciates Islam’s peaceful message.
A councillor said he used to think that all Muslims were as portrayed by the media but he was most impressed with Huzoor’s address, especially his message of peace and the motto of love for all hatred for none. He said he had no doubt that Ahmadis practiced what they preached. He felt the world was in great need of this message and needs to be told that there is a community within Islam which only spreads message of love.
Huzoor said rather than simply be delighted by these comments we should realise that they increase our sense of responsibility.
A lady councillor guest said that everyone was a little tense before coming to the reception but were assured after hearing Huzoor say in his address that the guests present would have some misgivings and apprehensions about Islam.
A journalist guest remarked that Huzoor’s address was most thought-provoking. He also appreciated that Huzoor mentioned in his address that extremists have distorted the teaching of Islam. He felt Huzoor presented the fine teaching of Islam and said he had gained a lot of knowledge. He said he has known the Jama’at for eleven years but his appreciation of the Jama’at had further increased on the day.
A member of the national assembly first expressed her thanks. She then said she was aware that Ahmadis were active members of society and how Ahmadi women give to charitable causes.
Huzoor said it is good to be involved in charitable causes as this also introduces the Jama’at to others and opens further avenues of Tabligh.
Chief Superintendent of Galway said that he was privileged to attend the reception. He remarked that he was very well aware that Islam Ahmadiyyat did not promote extremist views rather it taught religious tolerance. He said this was the reason the mosque was named after Hazrat Maryam. He said he was delighted that we had chosen Galway to build the mosque. In his capacity as a police officer he gave the Jama’at assurance of safety and protection!
Huzoor said in Pakistan and other countries our mosques are vandalised and desecrated and all this is done in the name of Islam and here in the Christian world people are honoured that we have chosen their city to build our mosque. In places like Indonesia and Pakistan extremist actions are taken against us in the presence of and with the backing of police but police of a Christian country is giving as assurance of safety! While these people have adopted the morals that Islam teaches, Muslims have abandoned them!
A seasoned politician who was first elected in 1999 and served as Minister for Communities and Rural Affairs from 2002 to 2010 and became the Minister for Social Protection in 2010 said that he had also attended the foundation laying ceremony of the mosque in 2010 and was delighted to be present at its inauguration. He said he was very impressed with the teaching of love and accord of the Jama’at and the Jama’at had proved that it worked on the ethos of its high objectives. He said he was most impressed with the way Jama’at held world religion conferences and brought different faiths together on one platform.
The owner of a sound system company which had helped with work on the mosque said that he was a church going Catholic. However, he said he had felt a change in his life after coming to the mosque where he had found peace. He said he could never find God in the church but when he witnessed Huzoor lead Salat he found God in the mosque. He said he had taken the posture of prostration (sajdah) with Huzoor. He said although he does not know Salat, he repeated the Salat postures of Ahmadis and said that he prayed a lot for Ahmadis while in prostration posture.
Press is a great source of Tabligh of the message of Islam. In Ireland TG4, an Irish language television channel with 5 million viewers gave the news of the mosque and showed Huzoor delivering his Friday sermon. A radio station RT Radio with one million listeners also recorded Huzoor’s Friday sermon and interviewed Huzoor and broadcasted it unedited. The RT Radio presenter asked Huzoor that while the motto of the Jama’at was love for all hatred for none, the opposite was going on in the Muslim world and did it not worry Huzoor? Huzoor replied to him that Islam teaches not to perpetrate cruelty, not to persecute others and this was the true Islam that we followed. And this was the basis of our motto love for all, hatred for none. Islam teaches us that there is One God and Muhammad is His Messenger and God is Lord of all the worlds and it is stated about the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) that he is mercy for all the worlds, for the entire mankind. Now, when the belief is that there is only One God Who nurtures and sustains all the worlds and there is one Prophet who is mercy for all mankind, then how could Islamic teaching have anything to do with usurping the rights of others? He asked Huzoor about Taliban and ISIS and Huzoor told him they were misguided and in the wrong. He asked Huzoor’s view on the world situation. Huzoor told him that the world was rapidly getting engulfed in disorder and turmoil. This is not only going on in the Muslim world but Eastern European countries are also heading this way. If patience is not demonstrated if peace efforts are not made then a great calamity can be upon us which would be WW III. This was also mentioned in their news. Our Irish Sadr and missionary-in-charge were also interviewed. Galway FM radio with more than a hundred thousand listeners broadcast it. Irish Times is a national newspaper. It covered our news on three quarters of a page with Huzoor’s photograph and images of the mosque. They had also interviewed Huzoor and published some of his quotes. The readership of this newspaper is 181,000 whereas its online version receives 184,000 hits.
While interviewing Huzoor the paper asked what the difference between Ahmadis and other Muslims was. Huzoor explained that the difference was exactly in line with a prophecy of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him). Huzoor told them that while the mosque of non-Ahmadi Muslims were full of worshippers they were devoid of guidance. Huzoor told them that ours were not mere words that a reformer was needed and he came and that Khilafat can be established just because someone says so. Huzoor explained that there were heavenly signs accompanying all this like the solar and the lunar eclipses.
Overall the media coverage including television, radio and newspapers was good and the Jama’at received positive introduction. Huzoor said wherever we build mosques God facilitates extraordinary opportunities to spread the message of true Islam. Huzoor said it was also a great favour of God that his tours abroad were extraordinarily blessed by God.
All these blessings open new avenues of Tabligh and introduction of Jama’at in accordance with the promises God made to the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace). Our effort is very small but it receives boundless grace and bounty of God which further strengthens the faith of each Ahmadi.
The Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) said: ‘It is amazing that eyes of these people are not opened even though Allah the Exalted is making the truth shine through abundantly and forcefully in support of our mission. It is also a way of Allah that the allegations of those who accuse others of falsehood attract His Signs.’ Promised Messiah also said: ‘Once an opponent wrote me a letter saying that people have not left any stone unturned in opposing you. But we do not understand one thing, which is that in spite of this opposition you succeed in everything!’
Huzoor said people still ask this question today but God’s help and support is with the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) which they do not want to see. Their so-called leaders have pulled wool over their eyes in such a way that rather than reach out for light they are looking for darkness. They are experiencing Divine displeasure again and again but do not care. Natural disasters, the pitifully state of the Muslim world and the murder and mayhem does not make them ponder as to what is happening to them! Are they recipients of Divine blessings and thus also attracting the world to the blessings or are they repelling the world? May God make them get out of the snare of the so-called, self-serving leaders and practice the true teaching of Islam and accept the Imam who was sent by God! They continue to martyr our people but do they get any inner peace by martyring one Ahmadi? If not daily then weekly hundreds of their own are being killed! There is turmoil and restlessness everywhere in Pakistan. Huzoor prayed that may God also enable us to discharge our obligations well.
Huzoor said today again he will lead funeral Prayer of a martyr. He said he would also lead a present funeral and yet another funeral in absentia.
The present funeral was that of Dr Rubina Karim Sahiba, wife of Dr Abdul Monim Sahib of Ireland who passed away on 27 September. She came to Ireland in 2000 and served Lajna in various capacities. From 2009 till her death she served as naib sadr of east region, Ireland. For years Friday Prayers were offered at their home. She was a most hospitable person who was regular in offering her Prayers, was prayerful and sociable. She had a very patient and grateful nature and was at the forefront of financial sacrifices. She was a very virtuous, sincere lady. She had suffered from cancer for quite a while but had remained extremely steadfast. Showing great courage she had gone to see Huzoor. Her only concern was for her young children growing up in this environment and asked for Huzoor’s prayers. She could not attend the inauguration ceremony of Maryam Mosque and died the next day. She leaves behind her husband and two sons who are Waqfe Nau children.
Dr Mubasher Ahmad Khosa Shaheed was martyred in Mir Pur Khas, Pakistan on 22 September. He practiced homeopathy from his clinic where two unknown men came on a motorbike. One of them went inside the clinic and shot five or six bullet at Shaheed on his head and chest and he was martyred on the scene. Shaheed’s family hailed from Dera Ghazi Khan and his father also had to endure persecution for being an Ahmadi. Khosa Sahib Shaheed moved to Mir Pur Khas in 1995 and set up his clinic. God granted him great healing power and feudal lords of the area came to him for treatment.
Everyone in the area knew Shaheed was an Ahmadi but there was no opposition. So much so that the Imam of a mosque adjacent to his clinic did not ever say anything against the Jama’at and was on good terms with Shaheed. Huzoor said with the grace of God there are still some Maulawi Sahib with decency in Pakistan, my God further guide them. Shaheed served the Jama’at in many capacities and was very keen to serve others (Khidmat e Khalq) and was at the forefront when it came to making sacrifices. He was of simple nature and had an ardent love for Khilafat. He was a softly spoken man who was fervent in obedience and was dignified. He gave up his habit of chewing paan (a betel leaf preparation) because he felt it hindered his invocation of Durud Sharif. He was a Moosi and leaves behind his parents, wife, two daughters and two sons. Both his daughters are medical students. May God be the Helper of his family and fulfil the wishes he had for his children.
Al Hajja Sister Naima Latif wife of Al Haaj Jalal ud Din Latif, Sadr of Zion Jama’at and Naib Ameer of USA passed away on 23 September after an illness. She was born in 1939 to a Christian family and was educated at West Virginia University. She worked as a volunteer in the medical department of USA military. She accepted Ahmadiyyat Islam in 1974 and developed in faith very swiftly through personal study so much so that when she met Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IV (may Allah have mercy on him) at Jalsa Salana UK in 2000 he remarked that it appeared as if she was a born Ahmadi Muslim.
Sister Naima Latif did not ever miss Friday Prayers and was regular in attending Jama’at programmes. She never missed fasting in Ramadan and in line of Sunnah kept optional fast every week. She also had experience to perform I’tikaf. She was at the forefront of serving others and always provided lift/ride to the elderly and the infirm who could not go to the mosque. She performed Hajj with her husband in 2002. Sister Naima made her children take leave from school to attend Friday Prayers and promoted the practice of recitation of Holy Qur’an after Fajr Prayer in her family. Neighbourhood children used to join her children during Maghrib Prayer.
Sister Naima Latif was at the forefront of making financial sacrifice. She would give any jewellery that her husband bought her as a gift to the mosque and in later life she told her husband that since she donated all the jewellery he bought her, rather than buy her gifts he should directly donate to the mosque fund. She had a very obliging nature and hated back-biting. If she ever heard any woman say something negative about someone she would openly say she did not wish to eat anyone’s flesh. No one dared back bite in her presence. Huzoor remarked if only all our women as well as men adopted this way many of our problems and rifts would be resolved.
Sister Naima Latif had an ardent love of Khilafat. She promptly adopted hijab after listening to an address by Hazrat Khalifatul Masih III (may Allah have mercy on him) on the significance of purdah! At the time she was the only woman in her area who wore Islamic hijab. She regularly wrote Huzoor for prayers and whenever she came for Jalsa, she met Huzoor and had a connection of extreme devotion. She served national Lajna USA in many capacities and was a Moosia. She leaves behind her husband Jalal ud Din Latif Sahib, one daughter and three sons. Her family is very sincere and devoted to the Jama’at, perhaps her daughter is more enhanced in sincerity than the others as she comes for Jalsa Salana UK every year. May God elevate the status of Sister Naima Latif, may He forgive her and keep her in His loving grace. May He grant steadfastness to her family and always remove their difficulties!

The Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) states:
"According to Islamic teaching, the religion of Islam consists of only two parts. Or one might say that this teaching encompasses two great objectives. First, to know the one God as He truly exists, to love Him, and to devote one's existence to His sincere obedience, as is the condition of obedience and love. The second objective is to expend all one's faculties in the service and sympathy of His servants, and to repay with gratitude and kindness everyone who does good, from the king down to the lowliest person." (Tuhfa-e-Qaisariyya, Ruhani Khazain, Volume 12, page 281)
He further states: "Islam has divided its teaching into two parts. First, the rights of Allah. Second, the rights of His servants. The right of Allah is to consider Him obligatory to obey. And the rights of His servants is to have sympathy for God's creation. It is not a good way to cause pain to anyone merely because of religious opposition." (Lecture Ludhiana, Ruhani Khazain, Volume 20, page 281)
Many such statements and writings draw our attention to our duties, which the Promised Messiah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave in his books and Malfuzat. And it is this very teaching of establishing the rights of Allah and the rights of His servants that the world needs today. And when we present this very teaching before the world, the world is left astonished. And when the further details of Islamic teaching are presented, when it is explained in greater particulars, the astonishment of the listeners increases even more. Because generally, the non-Muslim world has only heard from the opponents of Islam that Islam is a religion of extremism and usurpation of rights, and they present their argument through the practical examples of Muslim groups, which unfortunately some Muslim groups and individuals are displaying. However, as I said, when the reality of Islamic teaching is presented with reference to the Holy Quran, the noble example of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and the examples of the rightly guided caliphs and the companions (may Allah be pleased with them all), the truth becomes clear to them. And when it is explained that for the application of this teaching in this age, Allah the Almighty has sent the Promised Messiah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and that the Ahmadiyya Jamaat both propagates it and strives to act upon it, the world's attention turns toward the Jamaat. I have observed that even when this teaching is presented in a fine and excellent manner before the most staunch opponents, and an effort is also made to demonstrate it through practical example, an extraordinary effect is produced upon people.
In any case, rather than going into the details of this teaching at this moment, I wish to mention that in the recent days there was the inauguration of the first official mosque of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat Ireland. You will all have heard my sermon from there, and then the reception program held in the evening with the guests and non-members was also broadcast live and you will have heard that as well. In it, I spoke about some matters relating to this Islamic teaching, and I generally address non-members on this very subject, which also produces an extraordinary effect on them. Those guests who had come to Galway, Ireland were also affected. In addition, there were press interviews and discussions with politicians and the educated class regarding the teachings of Islam. They too were affected and each one expressed this. The Irish people have this quality that they express themselves openly, whether positively or negatively. If they did not like something, they remain silent and do not offer praise without reason.
Today, in connection with this tour, I will mention some things, some impressions of those people which, upon seeing, hearing, and reading, one is drawn toward praising Allah the Almighty and one receives the opportunity to reflect on how Allah the Almighty is enabling the introduction of the Jamaat and the spreading of the true teaching of Islam.
When I arrived in Ireland, the next day the Jamaat had arranged a meeting with the Speaker and certain parliamentarians at Parliament House, which took place in a very fine atmosphere. A meeting was held with the Speaker of the Irish National Parliament. He is a very sociable, open-hearted person with human sympathy. He is a justice-loving personality. He mentioned that he is acquainted with the Jamaat and regards the work of your community with great appreciation. Although the Jamaat is small here, by the grace of Allah it is very active. Regarding himself, he mentioned some difficulties and problems in Africa, saying that when I went to Rwanda I saw it there too. In any case, we spoke and I told him about the service the Jamaat is rendering in African countries, how we are running hospitals and schools, providing drinking water to the poor, and carrying out other welfare work, and all of this is being done without any distinction of religion or community. What astonished him was when I told him that in our schools, religious education is also provided, but there is freedom in it, no compulsion whatsoever. Students of every religion can receive the education of their own religion. Bible knowledge is also taught. Hearing this, the Speaker expressed great astonishment, because the schools of Christian missions forcibly teach only Christianity and teach Bible knowledge. Muslims are also compelled to study it. So hearing that such freedom is extended by us was a matter of great wonder for him. Then, on the subject of terrorism, he himself began to say that in some places cruelty is also committed by Christians, yet no one blames Christianity. In response I said that this is precisely the difference, that the world is showing prejudice against Muslims, that if a mistake is made on the part of Christianity, Christianity is not defamed, but if a Muslim commits a mistake or commits oppression, an attempt is made to defame Islamic teaching. In any case, this was his own view, and so he readily agreed. Similarly, a meeting was also held with approximately twenty parliamentarians. Among them is our Member of Parliament, Eamon O'Cuin, who introduced me and afterwards praised the work of the Jamaat. He has known the Jamaat for a long time. There were also some questions there, where I introduced them to the Promised Messiah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in accordance with the prophecy of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and gave a full account of it. Other matters were also discussed. These politicians think that perhaps the Ahmadiyya Jamaat tries to keep itself separate from other Muslims and that even if an opportunity arises, we are not inclined toward dialogue. Similarly, one of them asked whether there has ever been an occasion, or if one could be created, where a platform could be arranged for a sitting discussion with non-Jamaat or non-Ahmadi scholars or their leaders who are opposed to the Jamaat. I said we are always ready, and if you people can provide such a platform, we are prepared to go there too, and I know those people will not come. Recently here, the BBC was going to hold a program. One of our young team members was invited so that his viewpoint could also be heard, and a non-Jamaat person was also invited. But when they found out that an Ahmadi was coming, they refused to attend. That is their state of affairs, because they know they have nothing of substance, and whatever they do have is founded on falsehood. Then there was discussion about the freedom of women. When they were explained, they were quite satisfied. Then they also asked about sectarianism, why there are Shia and Sunni. In response, I explained to them that just as Jews and Christians are divided into sects, so too are Muslims, but the division of these Muslim sects was foretold even before, and this is precisely the reason for the establishment of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat, because the one who was to come was to unite all these sects, which is the work that the Ahmadiyya Jamaat is doing by the grace of Allah. In any case, all these matters had a very good effect on them. Some of them also came to the reception that was held at the mosque on Friday. There were over a hundred such guests, among whom five were members of the National Parliament, two were Senators, there were members of the City Council, the Chief Superintendent of Galway Police, the Bishop of Galway's representative who is himself also a Bishop, along with Councillors, teachers, doctors, engineers, lawyers, and various other people. In any case, this reception too was held in a fine atmosphere.
One guest politician, John Rabbit, says after this function: "Today's event has lifted me up. I was greatly impressed by the address of the Khalifatul Masih. My view of Islam has changed entirely. He says that a friend of mine lives in Saudi Arabia and what he tells me about Islam is the opposite of the beautiful Islam I witnessed here. Hearing your words, I came to know that Islam is truly a peaceful religion of love and affection, sympathy, and tolerance for one another."
I have taken brief excerpts from various people. The Deputy Mayor of Galway County has quite a lengthy statement. I am relating just a portion of it. He says: "It is a matter of great joy to see people from different beliefs gathered in one place, and it is proof that Ireland and especially the city of Galway welcomes Islam Ahmadiyyat." So this is the beautiful teaching of Islam. Even opponents, even those of other faiths, extend a welcome. Then, Deputy Speaker of the National Parliament, Michael P. Kitt, said: "It was a very beautiful event," and regarding my message he said: "This address about love and peace is very encouraging for me and it shows how much power there is in the message of love."
Then a guest who attended the event says: "I am very happy and greatly impressed by your message of love and peace. I will convey this message to my other friends."
Then a guest, Deirdre Mc Kenna, says: "I was very pleased to see people from different backgrounds united in one place. May Allah make this event the beginning of a tradition of open-heartedness in our society and may all the people of Ireland become part of it, so that we may learn to live while building positive relationships with one another and so that the foundation of a better future may be laid in Ireland."
So this is the beautiful teaching of the Jamaat, the beautiful teaching of Islam that the Jamaat presents, which compels even non-members to turn their attention toward adopting this teaching. Then a guest said: "There is no doubt that people today are very fearful of Islam, but this event has given all of us a lesson in religious tolerance. The Khalifa informed us of the teachings of love and peace of Islam and the Quran, which was very reassuring for all of us. We have learned a great deal from today's event."
Then a guest, Jenny McClean, says regarding my address: "He mentioned some very important matters," and says: "Every person who was listening to the Khalifa's address appeared very impressed. And it was also significant that the Khalifa mentioned in his address the contradictions present in the Muslim world." So there are many comments from people about learning the true teachings of Islam. Then there is also this: "This address was full of wisdom and was touching to the heart." Then there was a female guest who said: "I was greatly impressed by the message of peace that was conveyed and the explanation given of Jihad, and the very name of the mosque is promoting harmony in society. Coming here has given me a new kind of awareness about Islam."
Then a Councillor of Galway County, Tom Healy, says: "May Allah make your message resound throughout the entire world and may you become the true ambassadors of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)."
So these Christians are also showing respect for the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and are praying for the conveyance of this message, the message of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Then a female guest who was the Deputy Principal of an Education Foundation in Dublin says: "I was very pleased that the mosque was named Maryam. And from this address I came to know what status Mary holds in Islam and that the praises of Hazrat Maryam (peace be upon her) are mentioned in the Holy Quran. In my view, this is a very captivating point that should be conveyed to all those Christians who speak against Islam. I did not know much about Islam, but after listening to the address of the Khalifatul Masih, I have now formed an extremely favorable impression of Islam."
A journalist, Mrs. Bertha, was present. She says: "Before today I had no familiarity with Islam at all. I spent the entire day at Masjid Maryam and listened to the Friday sermon of the Khalifa and the inaugural address regarding Masjid Maryam. I have drawn this conclusion that Islam is a religion of peace. I have seen with my own eyes how cheerful Ahmadi people are." So these are the examples that leave an impression, and we should also display these examples. Then an Irish woman says: "I did not have much knowledge about Islam. My knowledge was limited only to what appears in the news, that is, suicide bombings and terrorism. But the Islam that the Khalifa described is completely different. That Islam conveys a compelling message of love and peace."
A guest who is also a Councillor says: "Before coming here, I thought all Muslims were the same kind, exactly as is shown in the media, that Muslims are committing terrorism and oppression. But I was greatly impressed by the Khalifa's address, especially the message of peace and your motto of Love for All, Hatred for None." He also says: "There is no doubt that the Ahmadiyya Jamaat also practices what it preaches, and the world today is in dire need of this message. The world needs to be told that within Islam there is also a community that spreads only and only the message of love." So wherever and whenever we hear this message, we should not merely become happy, rather our sense of responsibility should continue to grow accordingly.
A female Councillor says: "I think when we came to this event, every person was certainly somewhat tense. But when the Khalifa mentioned in his address that some people present here may harbor fears and apprehensions about Islam, the moment the Khalifa expressed this, everyone felt at ease and then listened to the address very comfortably."
Then a newspaper journalist says: "This address compels one to think." He says: "In the speech he explained Islam Ahmadiyyat and stated that certain extremists have distorted it. The Khalifa presented in an excellent manner the teaching of Islam as a religion of peace, love, and tolerance, and the speech was reasoned and clear. A great deal was learned from hearing this too." He says: "I have known the Jamaat for the past eleven years. The Jamaat also conducts interfaith programs." However, his belief was that perhaps those living there do such things for show and the actual teaching is something else. But today when he met me and saw everything, his satisfaction regarding the Jamaat increased further.
There was a guest who is a member of the Irish National Assembly. She first expresses thanks. She says: "I know many friends in my constituency and at the local level these Ahmadis are all very active. They are playing a significant role in our society. The women's organization of the Jamaat also gives us charity."
In any case, this charity should be given to those organizations by every organization, by the Jamaat as well. This too increases acquaintance, and from increased acquaintance, opportunities for tabligh are then created. Then the Police Chief Superintendent of a division of Galway County began to say: "It is an honor for me to be part of this, and I am well aware that Islam Ahmadiyyat does not believe in extremism. The Ahmadi Islam, which is the true Islam, teaches tolerance of other religions. This is precisely why the Ahmadiyya Jamaat today has named this mosque after Hazrat Maryam (peace be upon her)." He then says: "I am pleased that you chose the city of Galway." He further says: "As a police officer, I assure the Ahmadiyya Jamaat that for the teaching you are propagating, you will be given every kind of protection."
In Pakistan or other countries, our mosques are being damaged, and all of this is being done in the name of Islam. And the Christian world is taking pride in the fact that you chose to build a mosque in our city and is expressing the view that everyone has the right to worship. In Indonesia, Pakistan, or in some places, violence is perpetrated under police supervision. In those countries, in the Christian world, police officers are saying that we will make every effort to extend all kinds of protection to you. These fundamental values that were the true ethics of Islam have in reality been adopted by these people, while the majority of our Muslims are increasingly forgetting them.
Then a guest politician, Eamon sahib, who is a very seasoned politician, was first elected as Senator in 1989. He has also served as Minister of State. Then from 2002 to 2010 he served as Minister of Community and Rural Affairs. In 2010 he became Minister of Social Protection. He says: "In 2010 I had the opportunity to participate in the foundation-laying ceremony as well, and I am pleased that today this mosque is complete and I have also come for the inauguration." And he is greatly impressed by the teaching of love and affection of the Jamaat. He says: "The Jamaat has always proven that it is working in accordance with its noble objectives. I have been greatly impressed by how this Jamaat has organized interfaith conferences and brought different religions together on a single platform."
The owner of the company for the mosque's sound system, Mr. Fintan, was a Christian who was present. He worked before the tour and after it as well. He also saw me leading prayers and leading the Friday prayer. He says: "I am Catholic by religion and I go to church, but coming here I have felt that a change is coming in my life. Coming to the mosque, I feel a peace. In church, I never found God until today, but since I saw the Khalifatul Masih leading prayers here, I can see God here. I have found God here. I have performed prostrations with the Khalifa and offered prayers." And he regularly continued to pray behind us. He says: "I do not know how to pray, but whatever movements you people made, I made the same ones alongside, and going into prostration, I prayed a great deal for all of you."
Then through the press, which is a very major means of conveying tabligh and the message of Islam, considerable work was also done. They have a television channel TG4. News was broadcast on it. I was shown delivering the sermon. This is a nationwide channel and according to one estimate, approximately five million people watch it, or one might say the entire population watches it. Then there is the RTE Radio channel. RTE TV channel also comes here on Sky. But this is radio. Their listeners also number one million. They had also recorded some of the Friday sermon and afterwards took my interview as well, which they broadcast in their program almost exactly as it was, without any editing. Then the representative of RTE One who took the interview asked about Islam, saying that your motto is ‘Love for All, Hatred for None,’ and does what is happening in the Muslim world not cause you concern or worry? In response, I told them that Islam teaches not to violate anyone's rights, not to infringe upon anyone's rights, not to oppress anyone, and we follow the true teaching of Islam, and it is on this basis, on the foundation of this teaching, that we have this motto. Islam has taught us that Allah the Almighty is One and the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is His Messenger, and this Allah is Rabbul Alameen, the Lord of all the worlds. He sustains everyone. And regarding the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Allah the Almighty said that he is Rahmatullil Alameen, a mercy for all the worlds. When there is one Lord who sustains all the worlds and one Prophet who is a mercy for all the worlds, how can it be that the teaching of Islam would anywhere contain mention of violating anyone's rights or committing oppression? So all of this is falsehood and the very foundation of Islamic teaching is this. In any case, they were quite impressed by this. They broadcast it on the radio as well.
Then they continued to ask about other transgressions, about the Taliban, about ISIS. I explained that all of it is wrong. Then they asked what I say about the world, and I explained that the speed at which the world is becoming engulfed in disorder is not just a matter of Muslim countries, but countries of Europe are also included in this, and now this entanglement is continuing to spread. If patience and forbearance are not demonstrated, if efforts for the establishment of peace are not properly made, then a very great destruction will come which will be difficult to control, and this destruction is the Third World War. They also mentioned this in their news.
Similarly, they also took the interview of the President and Missionary In-charge of the Ireland Jamaat.
Then there is Galway FM Radio, which also broadcast it. Their listener count is also one hundred and thirty-five thousand.
Then the national newspaper of Ireland, The Irish Times, also published a report on September 29th, which was approximately a full three-quarter page story with large photographs of the mosque and my photograph. They had also come to take an interview. In connection with the interview, they also quoted some things. The readership of this newspaper is one hundred and eighty-one thousand and on the internet, approximately four hundred and eighty-four thousand or more people visit and read it. In any case, when they took the interview and asked what the difference is, why Ahmadiyyat came into being, and what is the difference between you and other Muslims, I explained to them that this difference is entirely in accordance with the prophecy of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), that such a time would come and in that time the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) would appear. The mosques of Muslims would certainly be populated with worshippers but would be devoid of guidance. (Al-Jami li Shu'ab al-Iman, Part 3, pages 317-318, Chapter: Qala wa yanbaghi li talib al-ilm an yakuna ta'allamahu... Hadith No. 1763, Maktabat al-Rushd Nashirun, 2004)
And in accordance with Hadith, I explained all of this teaching to them. I also told them that it is not merely a matter of someone declaring a Caliphate on another's say-so or a reformer arriving and making a claim, but rather Allah the Almighty had foretold signs, among which one of the celestial signs was the eclipse of the moon and the sun. (Sunan al-Daraqutni, Part 2, page 51, Kitab al-Eidain, Chapter: Sifat salat al-khusuf wa al-kusuf wa hay'atihima, Hadith 1777, Dar al-Kutub al-Ilmiyyah, Beirut, 2003)
So I conveyed all these matters to them, which they also noted. They may have mentioned some of them. Similarly, there was also considerable discussion regarding the freedom and protection of mosques. In any case, on the whole, the media covered it comprehensively from every angle, whether radio, television, or newspaper, and these news items spread well throughout the entire country, and the Jamaat and Islam were introduced. So wherever we build a mosque, extraordinary means are also created by Allah the Almighty for spreading the true teaching of Islam. The support of Allah the Almighty becomes manifest, and it is also a blessing of Allah the Almighty that He blesses my tours in an extraordinary manner as well. All these blessings, divine support, and new pathways of tabligh and introduction are in accordance with the promise that Allah the Almighty made with the Promised Messiah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Our effort is but modest while Allah the Almighty's boundless bounties are such that every Ahmadi's faith and conviction is further strengthened thereby, and indeed should be.
The Promised Messiah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) states in one place:
"It is a matter of wonder that Allah the Almighty is pressing with such great frequency and force in making the truth shine and in supporting this movement of ours, yet the eyes of these people do not open." He states: "It is also a way of Allah that the denial of the deniers draws the signs of Allah." He states: "An opponent once wrote me a letter saying that people have spared no effort in opposing you, but there is one thing we cannot answer, that despite all this opposition, you continue to succeed in every matter." (Malfuzat, Volume 4, pages 238-239, Edition 1985, published in England)
This is the question they could not understand, that we oppose and yet success continues to come to you. This same question belongs to those people today as well, but the support of Allah the Almighty is with the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) and they do not wish to see it. Their so-called scholars have cast such veils over their intellects that instead of light they are searching for darkness. They are repeatedly witnessing the displeasure of Allah the Almighty but still pay no attention. These natural disasters, this pitiable state of the Muslims, this killing and plunder does not lead them to reflect on what is happening to them, whether they are acting upon Islamic teaching, whether they are becoming heirs to the bounties of Allah the Almighty, and whether through their actions they are drawing the world toward Islam or repelling it. In any case, may Allah grant that these Muslims emerge from the clutches of these so-called scholars and self-serving leaders, and become those who practice and spread the beautiful teaching of Islam, and accept that Imam whom Allah the Almighty has sent for this purpose. They also martyr our people. One martyr falls, but as a result, do they attain peace? Not daily, but at least hundreds of theirs are dying every week. Just look at Pakistan itself. There is disorder. There is unrest everywhere. In any case, may Allah the Almighty grant us also the ability to fulfill our duties completely and in the best manner.
Today I will also lead the funeral prayer of a martyr who was martyred in Mirpurkhas, and there are two other funeral prayers as well. The first is the funeral prayer in absentia of Dr. Rubeena Karim sahiba. All the funeral prayers will be held together. She was the wife of Dr. Abdul Mannam sahib of Ireland. She passed away on September 27th by the will of Allah. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. She was the daughter of respected Muhammad Karim Qureshi sahib of Rawalpindi and was the granddaughter of Hazrat Hafiz Muhammad Amin sahib, a Companion of the Promised Messiah (peace be upon him). She came to Ireland after marriage in 2000. For a long period here in Ireland, she had the opportunity to serve as General Secretary and Secretary of Finance of the Lajna. Similarly, from 2009 until her passing, she continued to discharge the duties of Naib Sadr of the East Region local Lajna with great dedication. As there was no mosque or centre here, for several years the Friday arrangements were held at their home. She would attend to guests with exceptional graciousness. She was regular in prayers, prayerful, sociable, cheerful, hospitable, caring toward the poor, imbued with the spirit of service to humanity, treating everyone with good morals and good conduct, patient and grateful. She was regular in paying chanda, foremost in financial sacrifices, very sincere and pious. She had been ill for some time and was suffering from cancer, but she spent her days of illness with great patience and courage. Not a word of ingratitude ever came to her lips. She had made a great effort to come and meet me. She had young children. Her only worry was that in this environment, may my children not be led astray. Please pray for them that Allah the Almighty may bestow His grace and always keep these children in His protection. She could not attend the mosque's inauguration due to illness and on Saturday she presented herself before her Lord. As I mentioned, besides her husband, she has two sons and both children are Waqfe Nau.
The martyr I mentioned is respected Mubashir Ahmad Khosa, son of respected Muhammad Jalal sahib, of Satellite Town, Mirpurkhas, who was martyred on September 22nd at half past seven in the evening at his clinic where he practiced homeopathy and dispensary. Unknown individuals shot and martyred him اِنَّالِلّٰہِ وَاِنَّا اِلَیْہِ رَاجِعُوْنَ.
According to details, Doctor Mubashir sahib was examining patients as usual at his clinic located on Malahi Colony Mirpurkhas Sanghar Bypass Ring Road. Having checked the women's side, he came to the men's side and had not yet sat down in his chair when two unknown individuals came on a motorcycle and one of them entered the clinic and opened fire on respected Mubashir Ahmad sahib. As a result of the firing, five or six bullets struck the late martyr in the head and chest, causing his death on the spot. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. The Doctor sahib's family was from Dera Ghazi Khan. In 1954, his father, respected Muhammad Jalal sahib, shifted to Noor Nagar, District Umerkot, Sindh. The entry of Ahmadiyyat into the late martyr's family came through his father, respected Muhammad Jalal sahib, in 1954. He had pledged allegiance at the hand of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih II. When the Doctor sahib's father became Ahmadi, the family members expelled him from home, whereupon respected Ghulam Rasool sahib of Muhammadabad gave him shelter and arranged his marriage with his daughter, respected Maryam Siddiqah sahiba, considering him a hardworking and sincere person. After marriage, Muhammad Jalal sahib went to Kunri. There he started a flour mill business. In 1974, opponents set fire to his flour mill, looted the household belongings, and stoned the house. In any case, the martyr's father also endured great hardships. This martyr was born in 1967 in Kunri. He received education up to matriculation in Muhammadabad, District Umerkot, where the Jamaat has lands. After that he went to Karachi to his maternal grandmother. He passed F.A., then completed the D.H.M.S. course and the dispensary course, and after marriage shifted to Mirpurkhas in 1995 for the sake of the children's education. After some time he started a clinic there. Allah the Almighty had placed great healing in the hands of the late martyr. He served as the family doctor for area landlords and certain individuals. He also practiced homeopathic treatment. All people were aware of his being Ahmadi, but no one ever opposed him. There is even a non-Jamaat mosque next to the clinic, and the imam of that mosque never said anything against the Jamaat either; rather, he treated the Doctor sahib well. So there are also some such scholars among them who by the grace of Allah possess dignity. May Allah grant those people further guidance. The late martyr at the time of martyrdom was serving as Secretary Tarbiyyat of New Converts. In addition, Doctor sahib was also given the opportunity to serve in several organizational and Jamaat positions. He served as a member of the District Amila during the term of Doctor Abdul Mannan Siddiqui sahib's amirat. Whoever new converts came, he would arrange their meals. If they had no fare, he would pay it from his own pocket. He had a great passion for service to humanity. When the Kashmir earthquake occurred, he went there with the medical team and had the opportunity to serve for 22 days. In any case, he was among the foremost in the field of sacrifice. He was hospitable. He would arrange invitations for his colleagues and Jamaat office-bearers. He had an extremely simple nature. He had an extraordinarily loving and devoted relationship with Khilafat, an extraordinary spirit of obedience. He offered prayers in congregation. He performed voluntary prayers. He recited Durood. He always spoke in a gentle tone. He always practiced forbearance. He possessed excellent morals and was a person of dignified and commanding personality. He was forty-seven years of age. He was by the grace of Allah a Musi, and the Secretary of Finance says, and the Secretary of Wasiyyat has also confirmed, that Doctor sahib was always active in the payment of chanda. He always paid the Chanda Wasiyyat on time and in excess of his budgeted amount. He had a desire to provide his children with higher education. His two daughters are currently receiving education at medical college. Two sons are also studying. I spoke about Durood and prayers. He had the habit of eating paan, which he gave up because when one has to recite Durood at all times and engage in frequent remembrance, paan becomes an obstacle. His younger brother Muhammad Bilal saw in a dream a few days before the martyrdom that his brother was standing with respected Doctor Abdul Mannan sahib Siddiqui, the martyr, in a corner on one side of a rooftop, while the rest of the people stood on the other side. Similarly, the late martyr's mother saw in a dream that among all the brothers and sisters, he was standing at an elevated place. The survivors of the late martyr include, besides his father respected Jalal Ahmad sahib and his mother Maryam Siddiqah sahiba, his wife Mahmoodah Begum, two daughters, dear Madiha Baloch who is the wife of Asadullah Rand sahib, Missionary of the Silsila in Karachi, who is also receiving medical education in Karachi, and dear Najia Nigar, twenty-one years old, who is also receiving education at Hyderabad Medical College. He has two sons. One son is eighteen years of age, has completed F.Sc. and is now preparing for entry tests for further study. One son is fifteen years of age. May Allah the Almighty elevate the rank of the late martyr and grant his children, wife, and parents patience and courage, be their helper and supporter, and may He fulfill the wishes he had for his children.
Regarding the late martyr Mubashir sahib, Ataul Wahid Bajwa sahib, who teaches at Jamia Rabwah, says: My connection too is with Mirpurkhas. Our home there is quite close to that of the respected Doctor sahib. For this reason, I had the opportunity to observe the Doctor sahib closely. He was a very cheerful personality. He would speak to everyone with a smile. If seated in any gathering, he would immediately become part of it and would turn the assembly into a garden of delight with his engaging manner of conversation. He had great respect for all life-devotees and especially the missionaries of the Silsila. He says that whenever I would go to Mirpurkhas during the summer, we would meet at the mosque and as a life-devotee he would meet with great humility and modesty, even though he was older than me. But because of my being a missionary, he showed such respect that I would feel embarrassed by it. I never saw signs of anger or narrow-mindedness on his face. He would always meet with a smiling and radiant face. The people of the area are also astonished as to why he was martyred. He was a compassionate human being. The spirit of service to humanity was filled to the brim within him. People openly expressed this at the time of his martyrdom too. He says that by the grace of Allah the children have great courage. I offered my condolences to the son. I thought that since he knows me well, perhaps he might become emotional, but he did not cry at all, no one became emotional, and he said to me: Missionary sahib, two martyrdoms have occurred in Mirpurkhas. The former President of Lajna states that at the time of the martyrdom, non-Jamaat people also came to offer condolences. Two non-Jamaat women came to offer condolences. They were from the area where his clinic was located. They say we also used to get medicine from the Doctor sahib. They say on one occasion a poor woman came to the Doctor sahib to get medicine. He gave her medicine and told her some dietary precautions. The woman reluctantly said, alright. Her manner indicated she would not follow through, as she was poor. Mubashir sahib, the late martyr, immediately understood and returned her fee and also gave her some money, saying: take this money, you must buy these things, complete the treatment, and take care of your diet. Those women said that you people who serve humanity, these non-Jamaat people, these opponents of Ahmadis, single out and kill only you people. In any case, their belief is that through these tyrannical and brutal acts they will somehow weaken our faith. By the grace of Allah, after this many letters came to me stating that we stand firm on our faith and there is nothing to worry about. Allah the Almighty grants thousands of Ahmadis in place of one martyr. This is the way of Allah the Almighty. In any case, we should pray that Allah the Almighty keep the Ahmadis in Pakistan in His protection in every regard. His brothers also write that he was very wise in resolving the affairs of the entire family, and all family members would consult him. He would look after his siblings and take care of their education. One sister had some financial difficulties. Her husband had to go to prison for some reason. He took great care of the children. He was always occupied in the service of new converts.
The third funeral is that of Al-Hajjah Sister Naima Latif sahiba. She was the wife of respected Al-Hajj Jalaluddin Latif sahib, President of the Zion Jamaat and Naib Sadr Ansarullah USA. She had been quite seriously ill for some time. On September 23rd, 2014, while she was preparing for the Zuhr prayer, she departed to her true Lord. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.
Sister Naima Latif was born on May 21st, 1939, in a Christian family. She received education at West Virginia University and then began voluntary work in the medical branch of the American Army. She looked after wounded soldiers during the war. She was a woman who understood her responsibilities in society, law-abiding, and peace-loving. In 1974 she accepted Ahmadiyyat and through her own study advanced rapidly in faith and sincerity. So much so that upon meeting Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IV at the UK Annual Jalsa 2000, Hazrat Huzoor said to her that it appears as though you are a born Ahmadi Muslim. Sister Naima never missed the Friday prayer throughout her life. She was a regular participant in Jamaat programs. She never missed the fasts of Ramadan. In addition, following the Sunnah of the Prophet, she also regularly observed weekly voluntary fasts. She also had opportunities to observe I'tikaf. She was foremost in works of service to humanity. Those elderly and weak people who could not reach the mosque themselves, she would regularly provide them with transport. In 2002, she had the blessing of performing Hajj Baitullah with her husband and the large delegation of Jamaat America. She would have her children excused from school to include them in the Friday prayer. She instilled in the entire family the habit of reciting the Holy Quran after Fajr prayer at home. When the Maghrib prayer was offered in congregation at home, the children of the neighborhood would also join along with her own children. She was foremost in financial sacrifice. Whenever any jewelry came as a gift from her husband, she would give it as donation for mosques. In the later period of her life she told her husband that whatever gift you intend to give me, I give it as donation for the mosque fund. It is better that instead of buying gifts you directly donate that amount to the mosque fund on my behalf. Allah has also blessed the Jamaat with such women who are full of sincerity. She was very humble. She had a strong aversion to backbiting. If any woman in her presence would speak negatively about another woman, she would without hesitation say that I do not wish to eat anyone's flesh. Consequently, no one had the courage to backbite in her presence. If only this habit would develop not only in women but in men as well, then many quarrels, disorders, and grievances would be removed from our Jamaat. She had a love bordering on devotion for Khilafat and the Khalifa of the time, and she gave the obedience of the Khalifa of the time her foremost priority. During Hazrat Khalifatul Masih III's tour of America, upon hearing Hazrat Khalifatul Masih III's address on the importance of veil at a university, she immediately took the hijab at that very moment, and in that era she was the only woman in her area who would appear in Islamic hijab. She would regularly write for prayers. She had a very strong bond. She also came to Jalsa here. She met me many times. Her connection was one of great sincerity and loyalty. She had the opportunity to serve as National Secretary Waqfe Jadid, President of North Jersey Lajna and as a member of the US National Rishta Naata Team. She was by the grace of Allah a Musia. Her survivors include, besides her husband respected Jalaluddin Latif sahib, three sons and one daughter. All the children participate in the work of the Silsila and hold Jamaat positions. The entire family by the grace of Allah has an extremely loyal bond. Jalal sahib himself and the children all render service. His daughter, I believe, surpasses all in sincerity and loyalty. She comes here to Jalsa every year. May Allah the Almighty elevate the rank of the late and deal with her with love and forgiveness. May He also grant her husband and children courage and the ability to bear this sorrow. May He always remove their difficulties.
Since one of the funeral prayers is also present here, after the Friday prayer I will go outside and lead the funeral prayer. Attendees should straighten their rows here in the mosque and offer the prayer.
