After greeting everyone with "Assalamo-Alaikum wa Rahmatullah" - peace be upon you and the Mercy of Allah - and bearing witness to the absolute Unity of Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger and Servant, and seeking the protection of Allah against Satan, Huzur Aqdas (may Allah strengthen him with His Mighty Help) recited Sura Al-Fatiha, and then said that:
As members of the Jama'at are aware, I was visiting Japan to inaugurate their first mosque. If we examine the conditions in Japan, it seemed very difficult for this mosque to be constructed. Our lawyer there, who is Japanese, met me and congratulated me but expressed his surprise and wonder how it was that we were allowed to construct this mosque in this area.
He said that I was indeed fighting this case for you but I did not have any expectation that I would be successful. This is why, at one stage, I had told the people incharge of the Jama'at that it would be better for them to abandon this idea. But the reliance of God of the members of the Jama'at is strange indeed and they said to me that you keep striving and Insha'Allah we will be granted this place and construct this mosque. He said that for me this mosque is a wonder and a sign and an amazing thing.
This is indeed the grace of Allah, the Exalted, upon the Jama'at which He goes on bestowing upon the Jama'at all the time and thus goes on increasing our faith in Him.
There is a time decreed by Allah, the Exalted, for each task and when the time arrives, the work gets done by the Grace of Allah, the Exalted. When Allah, the Exalted, decreed that this mosque should be constructed, He enabled us to construct the mosque despite all the obstacles and thus was established the first center for the spreading of the message of Islam in Japan. There is no doubt that one mosque or center cannot fulfill the needs for spreading the message of Islam in the whole country but this is certain that at least we have laid the foundation for spreading the true teachings of Islam in the whole country.
I will present a few narrations of some people in Japan which will illustrate how the Japanese are viewing the true teachings of Islam as presented by the Ahmadiyya Jama'at. And this was destined to happen through the true servant of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa).
Thus just as the Promised Messiah (as) had expressed his intense desire for the spread of the message of Islam to the rest of the world and also exerted himself to achieve those goals, he also stated with respect to Japan that a book should be written for the Japanese. And he wanted a most fluent and capable Japanese person to be paid a thousand rupees to translate this book and then he wanted 10,000 copies of this book to be printed and distributed in Japan. He also said that pious souls will accept Ahmadiyyat in Japan.
Alhamdulillah besides Holy Qur'an, there is literature being prepared and available in thousands and is being spread. And now with this mosque Allah has opened such avenues where tens of millions are receiving the message of Islam as was the desire of the Promised Messiah (as).
The locals were conveyed teachings of Islam and they have changed their opinion of Islam. They recognized and openly expressed their feelings that that by partaking in the reception of the mosque, they have learned the true teachings of Islam and our false notions about Islam have been removed.
The Promised Messiah (as) stated that if one wants to introduce Islam, construct a mosque. People will be inclined towards it. We see this being fulfilled everywhere and also in Japan. And when one sees how by participating in the inauguration of the mosque the views of people changed so completely one is left amazed.
On Friday, many guests came to the mosque. First they had an open house. Then they heard the sermon & saw the prayer service. There were some 49, 50 Japanese guests from various faiths and government officials, professors present.
Let me convey the impressions of those who participated:
Director of Public Affairs of Church of Jesus Christ: We hope that this mosque will serve as a bridge between Islam and the Japanese people.
Priest: As a Buddhist, it felt really nice to enter a mosque. We thought it is not permissible for non-Muslims and Buddhists to enter the mosque but not only were we welcomed warmly but by joining the prayer and the sermon we were heartily pleased and our impression about Islam changed.
Member of City Parliament: We welcome the mosque in our area and we hope that in accord with the stand of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at this mosque will become a center for those who love humanity and who love to serve humanity.
Member Parliament (traveled 1,000 km to attend): When I saw this beautiful mosque, my fatigue was eliminated. The Ahmadiyya Muslim community has earned a great reputation through their humanitarian service at the time of the earthquakes and we hope this mosque will cause this good name of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at to increase.
Professor of University: It was very important for Ahmadiyya mosque to be constructed in Japan. This was a great need. The role of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at in conveying the beautiful teachings of Islam in the world is very prominent. We hope that through this mosque the Jama'at will be even better known and real peace and security will spread in the world.
The Jama'at in Japan is small but many guests from various nations were visiting the reception and thus there was great lively scene at the event. There were as many guests as the local members. Many nationalities were present. The Jama'at in Japan discharged their responsibility vis a vis hospitality in a very good manner to the Ahmadis from various nations.
On Saturday evening a reception was held in the outside area of the mosque. 109 Japanese and eight non-Ahmadi guests attended. Guests included politicians, directors of international tourism, professors and members of other professions from society.
Priest: The leader of the Ahmadiyya community came at a right time when we were experiencing sorrow over events in France. The fear we had of Islam during these days has been eliminated by the simple and beautiful way in which he has expressed the teachings of Islam.
Lawyer: This is the best day of my life. Everything Imam of Ahmadiyya said was based on truth. Where he has mentioned the need for peace and gentleness he has also mentioned the need for the spread of justice also which is very much needed and very good to hear.
University student: My home and family are associated with Buddhism and my house is a temple. I had great interest in Islam but had never had the opportunity to speak with any Muslim. I have read whatever I could in books but participating in this opening ceremony and by listening to the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at I have seen the true picture of Islam and a new chapter of my life has opened up.
A lady says: I want to thank you for this invitation to participate in such a great event. It is a matter of great joy for such a beautiful mosque to be built in this city. I am a university student and am studying different religions. After participating in this ceremony I have recognized that our understanding of Islam is very limited which is why we have many misconceptions. The address of the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at is the need of the hour. I have learned a lot about Islam through this address. We the people of Japan do not know much about Islam. We generally fear Islam but today's speech showcased what Islam really teaches. By participating in this event I also discovered that by merely reading books about Islam and its history we will not be able to see the true face of Islam. This is so because most of the books that they read are written by western orientalists. So many more such events should be organized in the future as well. After the building of this mosque I believe that such occasions shall arise in the future. I was able to meet the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at and I saw in their faces mutual love and peace.
Another Japanese Guest: By joining this event and listening to the speech of the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at I was able to think about the peace of the world. I am sincerely grateful for having been afforded this opportunity. Imam Jama'at Ahmadiyya talked about peace and made the world aware of the hidden dangers. The Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at also removed those fears of ours that the Muslims want to take over the world. I will say again and again that we should join hands with them and work towards peace. It is incumbent upon us to learn and understand more about Islam.
A Japanese friend who is a Teacher says: I can say to the students that these people always came to our aid in difficult times. [He had heard the speeches of many guests telling about the Jama'at's work in these difficult times to serve the people of Japan. He says he is teacher in a nearby school] Now, after today I can say to the children in my school that these are not dangerous people because I was afforded a chance to meet the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at and many people who had come from different countries. The Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at presented the teachings of Islam in a very easy way. All that he said was easy to understand. The Khalifa explained the true teachings of Islam in simple words
Another Guest: By hearing the speech of the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at, I realized we really need to understand the basics of Islam. Japan is an island and the people of Japan are cut off from the rest and therefore unaware of the teachings of the others. This is why they know nothing of Islam other than what they hear of the news related to terrorism. I hope the coming of the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at and the construction of this mosque will be a source of changing opinion on Islam.
Another Japanese Friend says: I live close to the mosque. I was very pleased to attend this event and to learn about Islam. I want to repeatedly attend events at the mosque to learn about Islam
Another Japanese Friend says: I have never participated in an event of this type before. By participating in today's reception and listening to the Khalifa of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at I for the first time realized what are the objectives for the construction of a mosque.
A Japanese Doctor who is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who met me and has been working with us for the last three years in humanitarian work with us despite the fact that he is not an Ahmadi says: Persons following other faiths like Shintoism, Buddhism etc should have no difficulty in accepting the Islam presented by Imam of Ahmadiyya Jama'at.
Another Japanese Friend says: Islam means peace and mutual security. These words of the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at have left a deep mark on my heart
An Exchange Student from Brazil says: It was a very interesting speech. I have never witnessed such an event of Muslims in Brazil. After listening to the talk of the Khalifatul Masih I have learnt a great deal about Islam. I became quite emotional upon listening to his address. There is no doubt that his words can change hearts. He has told us that Islam does not teach violence. It is clear from listening to him that media paints a picture of Islam which is not correct.
A Japanese Lady Guest said: I think this is a day that has changed my life. Imam Jama'at Ahmadiyya has modified my perception of Islam and Muslims entirely. He said that this is not the era of Jihad with the sword. It is an era of Jihad with love. The talk of the Imam of Ahmadiyya Jama'at has made a deep impact upon me. I would say that all the people should come here and see this mosque and learn about Islam from the Ahmadis.
Another Japanese Lady Guest said: I attended a previous reception. I participated in that event also but many questions remained. But today the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at answered all my questions. Now there is no fear of Islam left in my heart. Today I have also learnt that Islam is not a danger for the world but that in fact Islam can unite us all.
A Japanese Lady School Teacher said: I met the Khalifa beforehand, before listening to his address. [She had come with a lot of her students, some 15 to 18 of them and there were four or five teachers] The Khalifa answered all of my questions in the meeting and through his address. I now have firm faith that Islam is a religion of peace. I had come here with some of my students. These students were before fearful of Islam but after listening to the address of the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at and by talking with him they have changed their views. In fact they were very amazed upon hearing this address and began to feel very safe at the mosque. I want that this connection between Ahmadis and the Japanese goes on increasing.
She had been accompanied by a Japanese student. He says that this address was a message of peace. I think now that through this mosque the gulf that exists between Muslims and the other people will be removed and Islam will begin to spread in Japan.
By the Grace of Allah a lot of people heard about Islam Ahmadiyyat on a grand scale through the media also. I was interviewed by 4 outlets. 3 in mosque, 1 in Tokyo. One of the tv channels of central Japan interviewed me and they have a reach of 10 million. Another news agency also covered our event. There was an interview with a religious newspaper that has a reach of more than 300,000. This is Japan's only religious newspaper. It is a weekly paper. This interview was due to be published this week and will likely have been printed by now.
At Tokyo, a journalist interviewed me as well. He had also said that he would print the interview this week and this newspaper has a circulation of more than 8 million.
5 tv channels and representatives of different newspapers covered the reception. One of the tv stations covered the event by saying that the largest mosque of Japan has been inaugurated today. The tv channel gave 6 minutes of coverage to the event. Their viewers number more than 12 million. In the coverage it is stated that the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at who arrived here from London said that those who engage in terrorism have no connection with Islam and that a mosque is a place of worship for Muslims and is also a beacon of peace for everyone. He condemned the terror attacks in Paris outrightly. This tv channel had also conducted my interview and has shown selections from those interviews also.
Another tv channel with viewership of more than 12.5 million: they aired the news 5 times during the day and said that the largest mosque of Japan has been inaugurated today in the city of Tsushima. The inauguration has happened after the terror attacks in Paris. The Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at came here for this purpose from the headquarters in London. During the coverage they showed scenes from the Friday sermon and the inauguration ceremony.
TBS Channel also covered the news. This is a popular tv channel and also has a viewership of more than 10 million. They said that only one week has passed since the Paris attacks and that the inauguration of the biggest mosque in Japan has occurred today. They also said that the community that has constructed this mosque and their Khalifa declared the attacks in Paris un-Islamic and inhuman. They also showed scenes from the inauguration and also picture of the Promised Messiah (as). This news also was broadcast three times in the day.
Another news channel with an audience of more than 10 million said that a mosque has been inaugurated after the events in Paris when the negative image of Islam has become even stronger. This mosque has been made by the Ahmadiyya Community and is the largest mosque in Japan. The Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at has declared the attacks in Paris to be un-islamic and has said that this mosque rejects all such violence and that this mosque will be a beacon of peace and anyone is free to enter our mosque. They also showed the scenes of the inauguration, the friday sermon and the impressions of various people. This news also was shown in the afternoon and evening news broadcasts.
Nagoya tv that has an audience of more than 12.5 million announced that the largest mosque was constructed and inaugurated in the city of Tsushima, Japan. Those participating said that while their hearts are happy at the construction of this mosque they are sorrowful at the loss of innocent lives in Paris. Prayers were offered at the event for the peace and security of the world. They also showed scenes of the inauguration and the news was shown twice during the day.
Through newspapers also great coverage occurred by the Grace of Allah, the Exalted. A newspaper with a circulation of 11.2 million and is a daily and is said to be the largest newspaper sold in the world said in its headline that Islam's true teachings can be seen in this new mosque. The report stated that this mosque has been built by the 200 member Ahmadiyya Community and that some 500 people attended from various parts of the world and that during the friday sermon the head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community said that the attacks of Paris were a crime against humanity and outright condemned the perpetrators of this violence. And he directed the members of his community to take on the responsibility of conveying the true message of Islam to the people of Japan. Prayers were also offered for the victims of the Paris attacks. Various internet websites covered this news as well. The newspapers covered our humanitarian efforts with respect to earthquake and floods. Another news agency with wide reach covered our mosque inauguration. The readers of all these sites is greater than 15 million.
Another newspaper, a daily, with a circulation greater than 8 million published the news that "our belief is to promote harmony." Then it writes The center of education and training of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at, their mosque, has been built in the city of Tsushima, Japan. This mosque has four minarets and one dome and it is the largest mosque in Japan and some 500 people can offer their prayers in it simultaneously. The second floor of the mosque has offices etc. This mosque's doors shall be open to all regardless of faith or nationality. This is the Jama'at whose teachings are based on complete peace and love for everyone and they are active in serving humanity and did so in the earthquakes that occurred in Japan. This news was also disseminated by various other sites and the total number who viewed it was greater than 7.5 million.
Then there was a news agency that provides news to various outlets numbering 75 and reaches some 6.5 million people. The headings they gave said that this was the largest mosque in Japan and that they desire peace and offered prayers. Then the author says that this growing Islamic community inaugurated its mosque in the city of Tsushima. According to the Jama'at 500 people can offer prayers in this mosque and thus it is the largest mosque in Japan. The Imam of the Ahmadiyya community who had arrived here from the UK condemned the attack in Paris and said that it was a most heinous and inhuman act which would draw the displeasure of Allah, the Exalted. He further added that we do not need a sword to advance the true teachings of Islam, what we need to do is to reform the evil tendencies within each of us. Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at condemned terrorism in an effective way.
Another newspaper: The largest mosque of Japan was inaugurated by leader of the Ahmadiyya community. The leader of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at arrived here to do this and has condemned terrorism and said that spreading Islam by force is a false idea. Shedding innocent blood and causing terror draws the wrath and displeasure of God.
Through these tv channels, newspapers, internet, in total due to the inauguration of the mosque in Japan the message of ISlam Ahmadiyyat reached more than 52 million people.
These are the scenes of the succour and help of Allah that we witnessed by construction of the mosque and conveying to the world the true teachings of Islam Ahmadiyyat.
On the other hand, Mullahs are exceeding in their animosity and about this also the Promised Messiah (as) has said: I have firm faith that even if a book on Islam is published by me in Japan, the Clerics will reach Japan to oppose me but only that happens which it is the will of Allah to permit happen.
A Pakistani cleric opposed Huzoor (aba) in Japan in 2013 and said that this was the mission of his father that no matter where the Qadianis go to preach they will go to oppose because that is their mission. This cleric had said during that trip of his in 2013 that these Ahmadis are so sincere in their attachment to the Jama'at that they sacrifice their life, honour and time for the sake of the Jama'at. And then he had said about me that because of his trip and because of the activities of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at I shall come to Japan every year and will do everything possible in my power to complete the mission of Khatm-e-Nubuwat of my father. So these are their efforts. May Allah deflect all of enemy's evil ploys back at them. these days the news that is circulating is not about the current events but rather about the 2013 visit when they had said that they would ask the Japanese government that because the Ahmadiyya Jama'at is a non-Muslim organization so it should be banned in Japan. This is the sum of their wisdom.
This was all a description of the events in Nagoya. In Tokyo also there was a function and various dignitaries numbering 63 attended our reception. In this event a Chief Priest of Buddhism participated. Also the Chancellor of a University, a poet and many other dignitaries from all walks of life.
The Chancellor of the University said that I kept thinking what will you convey to us but you have told us about various matters of the past and the future in 20 minutes. You have talked on the basis of truth and facts. You have advised us of the losses likely from war. You warned us regarding the future wars. In such a short time, you have explained the true teachings of Islam. He said with regard to my address that this message should be spread all across Japan in English and Japanese.
Chief Reporter of Newspaper said: If Ahmadiyya Jama'at had not come in front of us through their services to humanity, we would have deprived of seeing this beautiful face of Islam.
Then a friend of the Jama'at said that this speech of the Khalifa has opened our eyes and has made us aware of such things as we had never even thought about. Living in peace and security we could not even have imagined all the dangers you alluded to and how devastating war can be and how terrifying atomic attacks are - we learnt all these things today.
Then another person said that the address of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih II (ra) condemning the atomic attacks on Japan was an extraordinary thing. This makes clear the stand of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at about peace very clear. The reference is to the address that Hazrat Khalifatul Masih II (ra) had given at the end of WW II which I had quoted from there and told that he had said that it is our religious and moral duty to declare to the world that we do not consider this type of shedding of blood to be lawful as was done by dropping atom bombs on Japan regardless of whether governments like or dislike this statement of ours.
A Buddhist Chief Priest said that I am a Buddhist but having listened to the statements of the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at my eyes have shed tears. Then after a meeting with me he prayed with us and kept sitting there in the hall tearful. He had met me in 2013 also and he was told by a friend then to pray to God that He should show him His Being. He had responded by saying that I do not even believe in God what to pray to Him. But today this same Buddhist priest when he met me again this year he prayed with us and stayed there tearful.
A Japanese friend says that I have learnt today that those people who associate Islam with Daesh are altogether wrong. The Khalifa of the Jama'at has given us a message of peace today. The world is moving today against the needs of peace and I am in agreement with the statements of the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at that we need to develop a change. The movements to bomb places that are being formed are all baseless and nothing but ways to take the lives of innocents.
Then a Japanese lady said that I thought Islam was an extremely dangerous faith but today, after listening to the address of the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at I have realized that in reality Islam is the most peaceful faith which is most surprising for me. When the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at made mention of the 70th anniversary of the dropping of atom bombs on Japan, it became clear that Imam Jama'at is well aware of world events. And the love the Khalifa has for the people is most commendable.
Then a Japanese friend said that it is proven by today's speech that Islam-Ahmadiyyat is a very powerful peace loving religion. Most Japanese people think that Islam is a bad religion but I bear witness that your Khalifa is a personification of peace. The Khalifa advised that the errors committed 70 years ago should not be repeated and all that he said was based on truth.
Then a Japanese friend expressed his sentiment in this way that today by listening to the address of the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at I learnt that how great a difference there is between ISIS and true Muslims. Whatever fears and worries that existed before in my heart all have been removed. And all that he said was true that we are going towards a third world war and the Khalifa drew our attention towards our responsibilities that we should do everything possible to stop this war.
The a lady says that a lot of people join Islam with all that is bad but today I learnt that Isla is totally the opposite of this. Islam is a religion that promotes peace. She says that she is not very old and so she does not know much about WW II but the loving way that the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at has talked about the Japanese people I wish to commend him for that.
Then a Japanese friend sat that there was a great message for all of us in the address of the Imam of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at. The message was that weapons of this era are far more dangerous and deadly than before. What the Khalifa has said is that this is not the time to enrage one against the other but to promote love between ourselves and it is the time to establish unity among ourselves. The Khalifa has specifically drawn the attention of us, the Japanese, towards our responsibilities because we know what type of destruction a war brings about. The Khalifa said that Japan should keep its history before itself and then be amongst those who are the foremost to stop and prevent every kind of disorder.
Another friend said that you have come to invite the people of Japan towards the teachings of peace. Normally we do not have the chance to meet Muslims and I feel proud that today I have met a leader of Muslims. He says that we do not know when the war will happen and I used to think that it would certainly happen but now I think that we can stop this war from happening but for this to happen we will have to act upon the advice of the Khalifa. Then he said that I say without any hesitation that the teaching of Islam the way that the Khalifa is presenting is better for the people of this country.
Journalist: This is a message of peace. You are correct and I respect your feelings towards Japan. What you are saying is indeed the need of the hour. I value that you feel the pain that we suffered from the atomic attacks. Many people narrated their feelings.
A Japanese Muslim friend said that I am a Muslim but I have not heard any Muslim scholar mention such teachings. I am very pleased that Khalifa discussed from Quran. Khalifa mentioned everything placing Qur'an at it's foundation. I have never thought of the third world war but have realized this is a relevant danger.
Car company CEO said: Everything you have mentioned is relevant to our needs for the whole world.
On the one hand people who hear our message say these things that Islam in reality is a religion of peace and on the other hand some of our western politicians keep saying there is a hint of extremism in teachings of Islam which is why Muslims are prone to violence. They do not think how many percent of Muslims are supporting these extremists? By saying such things that Islam's teachings contain extremism, these politicians, whether they hail from the UK or from some other places, they will thus make even peaceful Muslims against them. And then there will be discord and unrest. So western politicians who hold the view that Islam contains extremist teachings should ponder and think and should not make statements without due consideration. And those Ahmadis who have contact with such politicians they should counsel them and make them understand that at this time the need for the peace of the world is that we should talk with wisdom and insight and not make such statements as cause unrest to spread in the world. May Allah grant them wisdom also.
By the Grace of Allah, the Exalted, very positive results have emerged from the inauguration of the mosque. May Allah bless the Japan Jama'at with the ability to go on growing and expanding this widespread introduction of the Jama'at that has occurred. And may they fulfill the hopes that the Japanese have from them. May Allah enable the Jama'at to spread the message of Islam Ahmadiyyat there as quickly as possible as per the wishes of the Promised Messiah (as)
As I have mentioned, the clerics are full of malice and rancour especially in Pakistan and they go on expressing it here and there all the time. They are very envious when they witness our success. One extreme act of great violence occurred in Jehlum just recently. An Ahmadi owned chipboard factory was set on fire. They wanted the owner and the factory workers to be burned alive. But thank God they were not able to succeed in this nefarious goal. Nevertheless financial loss happened. They think by doig such things they can finish Ahmadiyyat or distance Ahmadis from their faith. About such people who go light fires Allah has made it clear in the Holy Qur'an that if they fail to repent, a punishment of Hellfire is destined them.
As far as Ahmadis are concerned, in such hard circumstances the faith of the Ahmadis increases it does not decrease. It happened in 1974 when these people lit fires and tried to put Ahmadis through a trial but they failed utterly in their objectives. All their desires remained unfulfilled. Those who wanted to place begging bowls in the hands of Ahmadis we saw them begging alms. This has been the way Allah, the Exalted, has treated members of the Ahmadiyya Jama'at. These trials cannot shake our faith. Indeed they strengthen our faith. If financial loss has occurred Allah replaces it. There are innumerable number of Ahmadis who underwent such trials and Allah, the Exalted, bestowed upon them immensely. If these owners have suffered financial loss it also will be replenished.
This chipboard factory belonged to Sahibzada Mirza Munir Ahmad Sahib, the son of Hazrat Mirza Bashir Ahmad Sahib (ra) - and then upon his passing away his children were the owners. I am happy at this that as it ought to be the expression of a momin, a believer, upon occurrence of such a loss, that expression was done by the owners. And their tongues uttered only expressions of thankfulness to God. Allah, the Exalted, kept all their Ahmadi workers safe and also safeguarded the lives and honor of all the women and children. Mirza Naseer Ahmad Tariq Sahib who is the oldest son of Mirza Munir Ahmad Sahib and runs the factory and resides in the factory. And similarly his son also who works at the factory. The son had left for Lahore an hour earlier in connection with the medial treatment of his wife and so was not present when the attack took place. But Mirza Naseer Ahmad Sahib and his wife were present in the factory. When the attack started they broke into his home. Their home was set on fire. But Allah wanted to save them and the Police arrived. Though they did not stop the mob. They saved them by taking them out by some back doors etc. Then they went over the wall and reached an open area in the jungle where they kept walking till they found a ride and then ultimately arrived at a safe place.
Similarly many Ahmadi workers escaped into jungle and hid there and were eventually found by the khuddam and led to safety. A security officer of one of the gates was arrested and imprisoned and a very serious charge levelled upon him. May Allah make avenues for his freedom. His name is Qamar Ahmad. May Allah also bless those incharge of dispensing justice that they act with justice. Similarly Mirza Naseer sahib was placed under house arrest but then later was released after being made to give assurances that he would show up when asked etc.. In other words the mobs were given full freedom but those who incurred this loss and were treated as criminals.
Mirza Naseer Ahmad Sahib is also the Ameer of Jhelum District. From the way that the attack unfolded it seems that the event was pre-planned. They had thought it appears that if we will get a hold of the Ameer then the rest of the members would just run away. People inside the factory did not realize what was happening so much so that it was even difficult for them to save their lives and run away. The mob had gathered in their hundreds, rather thousands and had arranged for bulldozers and had brought all the necessary items to set the factory on fire and they kept gathering there for quite some time but the police did not come. The police and the other law enforcement agencies showed up only very late into things, well after the fire had been set. In any case this is their favor that they helped save the owner and a few others and took them out to safety.
I have received a letter from the wife of the daughter in law of Mirza Naseer Ahmad Sahib, who also used to live in the factory, that when she went to visit the wife of Qamar Ahmad Sahib who has been arrested and charged with desecrating the Holy Quran - a very serious charge - she says that when she went to meet her she was utterly amazed to see that she was smiling and perfectly content as if nothing had happened - whereas her husband has in fact been charged with a very serious crime. May Allah, the Exalted, increase the patience and courage of Qamar sahib's wife and give the enemies the taste of the punishment of their misdeeds. The expression of patience and contentment that Mirza Naseer Sahib and his wife and their children have expressed is also worthy of mention. I was concerned that under such circumstances no words of ingratitude should emanate from the mouth of any of them. But from the letter of his daughter in law and son and I have myself talked with Mirza Naseer Ahmad Sahib and the letters that I have received from their near and dear ones it is apparent that they are all fully content with the decree of Allah. May Allah reward them. By virtue of their blood relation with the Promised Messiah it is good that they showed such exemplary patience and courage. Wealth comes and goes, as I have said. The God that provided before will provide again and can even bestow in greater measure and indeed will bestow in greater measure. May Allah also free them all from the false charges levelled against them. And especially, may Allah grant freedom to Qamar Sahib who was incharge of security at the gate and who is being charged with the grave crime of desecration of the Holy Quran whereas if anyone has a sense of respect and honor due to the Holy Quran it is only an Ahmadi who knows this more than anyone else.
In any case one good thing that has happened and we have this time i that some non-Ahmadis have also raised their voices against this attack. One tv program also discussed this in which the local politicians also participated. The presenters spoke against this and the participants in the program said that they would go after the culprits and seek justice.
After burning the factory, the mob attacked two of our Jama'ats and attacked the mosques. One of the mosques has been sealed. First the mosque was attacked by the maulvis. Then they took out the prayer mats and lit the items on fire, then they washed the mosque and offered prayers there. But then the police and law enforcement people took it from them and locked it and sealed the mosque. So although the mosque is not in their possession these two Jama'ats are still in considerable danger. May Allah safeguard the Ahmadis in those areas.
May Allah enable justice to prevail in Pakistan. May Allah also provide for the factory workers who are now unemployed. Aameen!
All praise is due to Allah. We laud Him, we beseech help from Him and ask His protection; We confide in Him, we trust Him alone and we seek protection against the evils. Whomsoever He guides on the right path, none can misguide him. He is alone and has no partner. We bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. O servants of Allah! May Allah be merciful to you. Verily, Allah commands you to act with justice. Forbids evil which pertain to your own selves and evils which affect others. He warns you against being unmindful. Remember Allah; He too will remember you. Call on Him and He will make a response to your call. Verily divine remembrance is the highest virtue.

As members know, I went to Japan in recent days for the inauguration of the first mosque there. If one looks at the outward circumstances, it was a very difficult matter for a mosque to be built there. Our lawyer, who is Japanese, met me and congratulated me on the completion of the mosque, but says that he still thinks and wonders and cannot believe that we were given permission to build a mosque in this area. He said that I was fighting the case for you, but I did not expect any success, so at one point I told the Jama'at administration that it would be better to abandon this matter. But the tawakkul (trust in Allah) of the members of the Jama'at is remarkable. They said to keep trying. This place will be ours Insha'Allah and the mosque will be built. He said today this mosque is certainly an astonishing thing and a sign for me. In any case, this is the grace of Allah which He continues to bestow upon the Jama'at at every opportunity and increases our faith. Allah has appointed a time for every task, and when that time comes, those tasks are accomplished by the grace of Allah. When Allah willed that this mosque be built, despite all obstacles, Allah gave us the ability to build the mosque and the first center for conveying the message of Islam in this country was established. There is no doubt that only one center or mosque cannot fulfill the purpose of spreading the teachings of Islam in the entire country, but it is certain that with this, the foundation for conveying the true message of Islam in Japan has been laid.
I will also share some people's impressions which show how the Japanese viewed the correct Islamic teachings explained through Jama'at Ahmadiyya. And this was bound to happen because this was destined through the true servant of the Holy Prophet (Peace and blessing of Allah be upon him). Thus, just as the Promised Messiah (Peace be on him) expressed yearning to convey the true message of Islam to other countries of the world and made efforts for it, similarly regarding Japan, he said that a book should be written for the Japanese and it should be translated by paying an eloquent Japanese person one thousand rupees, and then ten thousand copies should be printed and published in Japan. (Taken from Malfuzat Volume 8, page 22, 1985 Edition, published in England)
He also said that people of good nature in Japan will accept Ahmadiyyat. (Taken from Malfuzat Volume 7, page 385, 1985 Edition, published in England)
Alhamdulillah, today thousands of pieces of literature in their language are being prepared for the Japanese by the Jama'at, including the translation of the Holy Quran, and now with this mosque, Allah has opened such doors to fulfill the desire of the Promised Messiah علیہ السلام that the message of Islam is reaching tens of millions.
As I said, I will present people's impressions which show that people's opinion about Islam has changed. Previously it was something else, now it has become completely different. And they have said, openly expressed that by participating in the mosque's inauguration and function, we learned about the teachings of Islam and our misconceptions about Islam have been removed. Thus, the Promised Messiah علیہ الصلوۃ والسلام had said that if you want to introduce Islam, build a mosque, people's attention will be generated. (Taken from Malfuzat Volume 7, page 119, 1985 Edition, published in England)
This matter is being fulfilled with great glory everywhere we see and also in Japan. When one sees how people were transformed by participating in the mosque's function, it is astonishing. On the day of Jumu'ah, Japanese guests were also present in the mosque at Jumu'ah time. When I went, there first was an unveiling ceremony. Some were standing outside and then they came inside and sat in the mosque and listened to the khutbah and saw us praying. There were approximately forty-nine or fifty Japanese guests including followers of Shintoism, Buddhists, and Christian leaders, as well as members of parliament from the area, professors, and people from other fields. Let me tell you the impressions of those who participated. There is a gentleman, Osamu, who is Director of Public Affairs for the Church of Jesus Christ. He says we hope that this mosque will act as a bridge between the Japanese and Islam.
Then another priest named Taijun Sato says that as a Buddhist, it felt very good to enter the mosque. We thought that entry into the mosque was forbidden for non-Muslims and Buddhists. But not only were we warmly welcomed, but we were delighted to participate in the prayer and khutbah. Our impression of Islam has changed. Islam is not a threat to the world but can unite us all.
Then a member of the city parliament says we welcome the construction of the mosque in our area. We hope that according to the stance of Jama'at Ahmadiyya, this mosque will become a center for those who love humanity and believe in serving humanity.
Then there is a member of parliament from Ishinomaki City. He traveled a thousand kilometers to participate in the mosque ceremony. He says “seeing this beautiful mosque removed all my travel fatigue”. Then he said that he hopes this mosque will increase the good name Jama'at Ahmadiyya Japan has earned through service during earthquakes.
Then there is Professor Minesaki Hiroko from Aichi Educational University. He says that the construction of Jama'at Ahmadiyya's mosque in Japan was very much needed. The role of Jama'at Ahmadiyya in showing the beautiful face of Islam to the world is very prominent. We hope that through this mosque, the Jama'at's introduction will increase further and true peace and tranquility will spread in the world.
The Jama'at in Japan is a small Jama'at. About twelve Ahmadis from many countries had come from abroad for the function as well. Therefore, there was good attendance on Friday. From Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, Korea, America, Canada, Germany, Britain, Switzerland, India, UAE, and some had also come from Congo Kinshasa. And by the grace of Allah, the Jama'at also fulfilled their right of hospitality to all of them.
On Saturday evening, there was also a reception in the mosque courtyard regarding the mosque. In this event, approximately 109 Japanese guests and eight other non-Jama'at foreign guests participated. Among these guests were the President of AMA City International Association, two provincial members of parliament, three city members of parliament, Director of International Tourism, President Priest of Soto Temple, university professors, President of Aichi Educational University, doctors, teachers, lawyers, and people from various other fields.
A Buddhist priest who participated says that the Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya's arrival came at a very good time when we were suffering from a state of panic after the terrorism in Paris. He says that the beautiful and easy-to-understand manner in which he spoke and defined Islam removed this state of panic that was settled in our hearts about Islam. The arrival of the Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya and the construction of this mosque completely ended our anxiety and worry.
Then there is lawyer Ito Hiroshi. He had also provided legal assistance on various occasions. This is the same person I mentioned. He says this is the best day of my life. He says that all the words of the Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya were based on truth. Where he enjoined peace and gentleness, he also spoke about promoting justice and fairness, which is a very good thing and needed.
A university student says my family is a Buddhist priest family and my home is a temple. I was quite interested in Islam but never got the opportunity to talk to a Muslim. Whatever could be obtained from books, I read, but today by participating in this inaugural ceremony and listening to the words of the Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya, I saw the real picture of Islam and a new chapter has opened for me.
A lady, Yuki Sangisaki, says thank you from the bottom of my heart for the invitation to this dignified event. The construction of such a magnificent mosque in this city is also a matter of great happiness for us. I am a university student and am researching different religions. After participating in this event, I realized that our knowledge about Islam is very limited, which is why we are victims of misconceptions. The address of the Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya is the need of the times. I have learned a lot about Islam from this address. We Japanese people do not know much about Islam but are afraid of Islam, but today's address showed us what Islam really is. She says that participating in this event also revealed that by reading books about Islam and reading its history, we will not be able to see its real face. Because many books they read are those written by Western Orientalists. For this, there is a need to hold more such events. After the mosque has been built, I think there will be more such opportunities. I got the opportunity to meet the Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya and his Jama'at. I saw mutual love and peace and harmony on their faces and after meeting them, I saw much love and affection in them.
Another Japanese friend, Toya Sakurai, says that participating in today's event and listening to the words of the Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya gave me the opportunity to think about world peace. I am deeply grateful for providing this opportunity. The Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya spoke only about peace and also warned the world about hidden dangers. The Khalifa of Jama'at Ahmadiyya also removed our apprehensions that Muslims want to conquer the world. I will say again and again that we should work with them for peace. Now it is our duty to read about Islam and understand it. Similarly, a Japanese friend who is a school teacher says that Ahmadi friends have always helped us in difficult times. I did not know this before. (Because there, many speakers mentioned that Jama'at Ahmadiyya helped during various earthquakes during the tsunami days.) So he says I did not know this before. He says I am a teacher at a nearby school here. He says now after today I can tell the children of my school that these people are not dangerous because I got a very pleasant opportunity to meet the Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya and people who came from different countries. He says that the Khalifa of Jama'at Ahmadiyya explained about Islam in a very easy way. His words were very quickly understandable. Then a friend who participated in this event says that after participating in this event and listening to the address of the Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya, I have learned that we need to become familiar with the foundations of Islam. Japan is an island and its people are similarly closed and unaware of the outside world. That is why they do not try to move beyond the concept of terrorism regarding Islam. I hope that the arrival of the Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya and the construction of this mosque will be a positive means of changing this perception.
Then another Japanese friend, Oono Ken, says that I live right next to the mosque. I was very happy to participate in the mosque's inaugural ceremony and learn about Islam. I want to continue coming to this mosque in the future to learn more about Islam. Then another Japanese friend says I have never participated in such an event before. Today by participating in this event and listening to the address of the Khalifa of Jama'at Ahmadiyya, I learned for the first time what the purposes of a mosque are. A Japanese doctor who is an orthopedic surgeon also met me. He has been working with us through Humanity First for service to humanity for the past three years and volunteers despite not being an Ahmadi. He says that no follower of Shintoism, Christian, Buddhist, or follower of any other religion should feel any shame in accepting the Islam that the Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya has presented.
Then another Japanese friend, Mitsuo Ishikawa said the words of the Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya "Islam means peace and mutual safety" touched my heart.
A student who had come to Japan from Brazil in connection with an exchange program says it was a very interesting event. I have never seen such an event of Muslims in Brazil. Today, listening to Khalifatul Masih, I have learned a lot about Islam. Listening to the address of the Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya, I became very emotional. There is no doubt that his words are heart-changing. Then he says that the Imam of Jama'at said that terrorists do heinous things but the real teachings of Islam are very good. This shows that what the media tells about Islam is completely different from reality.
A Japanese lady, Mrs. Uzuki, says that I believe today was a life-changing day for me. The Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya has completely changed my view about Islam and Muslims. Then about my address, she says that he said this is not the time for jihad with the sword but the time for jihad with love. She says the words of the Khalifa of Jama'at Ahmadiyya have had a very deep impact on me. I would say that everyone should come here and see this mosque and learn about Islam from Ahmadis.
A Japanese lady, Mrs. Hayashi, said that previously a program was also organized by Jama'at Ahmadiyya in Japan. I also participated in that event, but even after participating in that event, some questions remained in my mind at that time, but today the Khalifa of the Jama'at answered all my questions in his address. Now there is no apprehension or fear of any kind about Islam left in my heart. Today I have also learned that Islam is not a threat to the world but can unite us all.
A Japanese lady who was a school teacher says that before listening to the address of the Khalifa of Jama'at Ahmadiyya, I also got the opportunity to meet him at the office. She had come with many of her students; there were fifteen or sixteen students and four or five teachers. She says that Khalifatul Masih answered all my questions during the meeting and then later through his address. Now I firmly believe that Islam is a religion of peace. I had brought some of my students here with me. These students were previously afraid of Islam, but after listening to the address of the Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya and talking, their view has changed; rather, after listening to this address, they were extremely surprised and began to feel very safe in the mosque. (As if there was danger before.) She says I want this relationship between the Japanese and Ahmadis to continue to increase.
A Japanese student who came with them says that this was a message of peace. I think that now through this mosque, the gulf between Muslims and other people will be removed and Islam will begin to spread in Japan.
Then by the grace of Allah, there was also considerable discussion about the mosque's inauguration through the media, and the message of Islam reached the Japanese on a large scale. I had four different media interviews. Three were here for the mosque and one was in Tokyo. Chukyo TV is a famous TV channel in central Japan. Its viewers number more than ten million. This interview and also the news of the mosque's inauguration and scenes of Jumu'ah prayer were broadcast by them on Friday, November 20.
Then the Sana News Agency journalist interviewed, and they provided to foreign media, they also said that there will be considerable coverage later as well.
Similarly, there is the Chugai Nippoh newspaper. Its representative interviewed me along with a Christian priest. This is Japan's only religious newspaper. It is a weekly newspaper and the number of readers of this newspaper including the internet edition is more than three hundred thousand. This interview was also to be published this week. It must have been published.
Similarly, a journalist interviewed me in Tokyo and he also said I will publish this week. This newspaper's circulation is also more than eight million.
Five TV channels and representatives of various newspapers and journalists came on the occasion of this mosque's inauguration. Chukyo TV, which I just mentioned, broadcasted the news as ‘Japan's largest mosque was inaugurated today’. This news was given on Friday for about six and a half minutes. Their viewers also number more than twelve million. Then in the news, it was stated that the Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya who came from London declared terrorist organizations to be unrelated to Islam and their actions as un-Islamic, saying that this mosque is not only a place of worship for Muslims but a cradle of peace for everyone. The Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya strongly condemned the Paris attacks. This channel had also taken an interview and then also showed some selected portions of my interview.
Similarly, Tokai TV, whose viewers also number more than ten million, rather more than twelve and a half million. This channel broadcast the news five times during the day that Japan's largest mosque was inaugurated today in Tsushima city. The inauguration took place after the attacks in Paris. The Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya came here from the center in England for this ceremony. During the news of the inauguration, they also showed me delivering the khutbah and also showed scenes of the inauguration.
Similarly, TBS TV channel is also quite famous there and it’s said that more than ten million people watch it. It broadcasted the news that it has been a week since the Paris attacks and today the inauguration of Japan's largest mosque took place. This mosque was built by a Jama'at and their Khalifa has declared the attacks in Paris as un-Islamic and inhuman. During the news, scenes of the mosque were shown and a picture of Hazrat Aqdas Masih Mau'ood علیہ الصلوۃ والسلام was also shown. This news was also broadcast three times during the day.
TV Aichi, with its viewers also numbering more than ten million also gave the news that after the Paris attacks, when the negative impression about Islam has been reinforced again, a mosque has been inaugurated in Tsushima. This mosque has been built by Jama'at Ahmadiyya and it is Japan's largest mosque. Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya, declaring the Paris attacks as un-Islamic, has said that this mosque condemns all such elements. This mosque will be a means of peace and security. Anyone who wishes can come to this mosque. And during the news, scenes of the mosque and impressions of other members were shown. Some scenes of Jumu'ah khutbah were also shown. This news was also broadcast in the afternoon and evening news.
Then there is Nagoya TV, the number of its viewers is also considerable. It is more than ten million, in fact more than twelve and a half million. They say that Japan's largest mosque was inaugurated in Tsushima. Those present said that while their hearts are happy that this mosque has been built, they are also saddened that innocent blood was shed in Paris. In this event, prayers were also offered for world peace. During the news, scenes of the mosque continued to be shown. This news was also shown twice on this TV channel.
Through newspapers as well, by the grace of Allah, there was great publicity. One newspaper, The Daily Yomiuri, has a circulation of eleven million two hundred thousand. It is considered the world's most sold newspaper. This newspaper gave this headline: "The Real Face of Islam." In the newly built mosque, prayers were offered for those killed in the Paris tragedy. Then it wrote further that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at Japan, consisting of more than 200 people, also prayed for those killed in the Paris tragedy during Jumu'ah prayer on the occasion of the inauguration of their newly built mosque in Tsushima city on Friday, November 20. On this occasion, people from around the world, numbering around 500, were present. In the Jumu'ah khutbah, the worldwide Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya, in his address, declaring the Paris tragedy a heinous crime against humanity, strongly condemned the extremist organization and, while instructing members of his Jama'at, drew attention to the fact that they should assume the responsibility of conveying the true teachings of Islam to the Japanese nation. This news was also posted on the internet by five other websites including yahoo japan, biglobe japan, msn japan, and goo news. The total number of viewers of all these websites is also more than fifteen million.
A newspaper, Daily Asahi, whose circulation is more than eight hundred thousand published the news that "Our belief is harmony." And then it writes that the construction of the mosque and education center of Jama'at Ahmadiyya Japan has been completed in Tsushima city. This mosque is adorned with four minarets and one dome and is Japan's largest mosque. Five hundred worshippers can pray simultaneously in it. On the second floor are offices and guest houses, etc. This mosque will keep its doors open for everyone without distinction of nationality or religion. Then it says that this is a religious Jama'at whose fundamental teachings are based on complete peace and harmony. Then it says that this Jama'at is also at the forefront in voluntary services. During the earthquakes in Kobe, Niigata, and northeastern Japan, as well as during this year's floods, this Jama'at was the first to offer its practical services. This news was also taken by various websites and was viewed by more than seven and a half million people.
Similarly, there is the JiJi Press News Agency. This agency provides news to various newspapers, television channels, and magazines in Japan, whose total number is 75. Thus, their news reaches approximately six million five hundred thousand people. The headline this agency gave was: Japan's largest mosque construction completed. Wants peace and local Ahmadis' prayer. Then it says that the inauguration of the mosque at the center of the growing Islamic organization Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at took place in Tsushima city. According to the Jama'at, 500 people can pray in this mosque. In this respect, it is Japan's largest mosque. The Imam of worldwide Jama'at Ahmadiyya who came from Britain said about the Paris tragedy that this is a very cruel and inhuman act that causes Allah's displeasure. He also said that for the progress of Islam, we need not the sword but to eliminate the evil within ourselves. The Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya strongly condemned extremism. And its visitors' number, when it was posted on various websites, is also in the millions.
Similarly, a Japanese newspaper, Mainichi Shinbun, writes that Japan's largest mosque was inaugurated. Mirza Masroor Ahmad, head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, inaugurated Japan's largest mosque in Tsushima city in Aichi province on November 20. Then it says that he has condemned terrorism and extremism. Then it says that he said that the notion of spreading Islam by force is mistaken. The loss of human lives and the suffering inflicted upon them are causing Allah's displeasure. In any case, through these TV channels and newspapers and through the internet and websites, the news published on the occasion of this mosque's inauguration has conveyed this message of Islam to approximately fifty-two million people. So these are the scenes of Allah's support and help which we saw due to conveying the true message of Islam through the mosque. On the other hand, the mullahs are also expressing their rage and anger, and the Promised Messiah علیہ السلام has already stated that they were to express rage and anger, rather, specifically regarding Japan as well, he stated. Therefore, this rage and anger of the mullahs was bound to happen. Thus, on one occasion, the Promised Messiah علیہ السلام said that I even believe that if a book of mine on Islam is published in Japan, these people (meaning the mullahs) will even go to Japan to oppose me. But what happens is what Allah wills. (Taken from Malfuzat Volume 8, page 25, 1985 Edition, published in England)
When I visited Japan in 2013, at that time a maulvi from Pakistan also went to Japan and said that it was my father's mission that wherever Ahmadi Qadianis go overseas and preach, we will go there and stop their preaching. And in 2013, when this maulvi went to Japan, he said in the speech he gave there that these people, meaning Ahmadis, are so sincere with their beliefs and mission that they sacrifice their lives, wealth, and time. And then he said about me that because of his tour and the Jama'at's activities, now I will come to Japan every year and will make every possible effort to complete my father's Khatm-e-Nubuwwat mission. So these are their efforts. May Allah turn their evil upon them.
Nowadays the news running on the website is not from this time's "Jang" (newspaper) but from after 2013, in which he had said that we will demand from the Japanese government that since Jama'at Ahmadiyya is a non-Muslim organization, it should be banned in Japan. This is their wisdom.
This was the story of the mosque's inauguration in Nagoya. Then similarly in Tokyo also there was a function. There was a reception in which 63 Japanese guests participated, including the chief priest of a Buddhist sect, the chancellor of Nihon University, a famous poet, business advisor Mr. Martin, the chief reporter of Asahi, Japan's second largest newspaper, the daughter of a famous politician who is herself also a politician, the president of a large car manufacturing company, and people from different walks of life participated.
The chancellor of Nihon University, Mr. Urano Tatsunoo, says I kept thinking about what you would tell us. But within twenty minutes you have encompassed past history and future circumstances in a comprehensive manner. You spoke with facts and references. You informed about the harms of war and warned against future wars. You also explained Islamic teachings in an extremely brief time. About my address, he says this address in which all this was stated should be spread throughout Japan in English and Japanese.
Then the chief reporter of the Asahi newspaper said that if Jama'at Ahmadiyya Japan had not come before us through its voluntary services, we would have remained deprived of seeing this beautiful face of Islam.
Then a friend, Mr. Yuko, said that the address of the Khalifa of Jama'at Ahmadiyya has opened our eyes. You told us things we had never even thought about. We cannot even imagine in this atmosphere of peace and tranquility the dangers you mentioned. You told us today how devastating war is and how horrible nuclear attacks are.
Then a gentleman said that the condemnatory address by the Imam of the Jama'at after the atomic attack on Hiroshima in World War II is an extraordinary thing. This clarifies the role of Jama'at Ahmadiyya in establishing peace. After World War II, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih II gave this address which I quoted there and told them. A portion of what Hazrat Khalifatul Masih II had said, which I stated there, was: "It is our religious and moral duty to declare before the world that we do not consider such bloodshed legitimate (as was done by dropping the atom bomb in Japan), whether governments like our declaration or not." (Khutbat Mahmood Volume 26, page 315)
Then the chief priest of a Buddhist sect says I am a Buddhist but tears come to our eyes listening to the words of the Imam of the Jama'at. Then after the meeting, he also prayed and remained sitting in the hall and remained tearful. In 2013 he had also met me. At that time, a friend had told him to pray that Allah shows you His existence. He said I don't even believe in God. What prayer should I offer? But today this same Buddhist priest, when he met me again, not only prayed regularly there but also sat with tears in his eyes.
A Japanese friend says that I learned today that those who connect Islam with Daesh are completely wrong. Today the Khalifa of the Jama'at gave us a message of peace. In today's era, the world is going against peace and I agree with the words of the Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya that we need to bring about change. Nowadays the movements we are running to drop bombs and carry out air strikes are all baseless and are causing the loss of innocent lives. Similarly, a Japanese friend, Hara, said that my impression about Islam was that Islam is an extremely dangerous religion. But today, after listening to the address of the Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya, I realized that Islam is actually the most peace-loving religion and this is very surprising for me. When the Khalifa of the Jama'at mentioned the seventieth anniversary of the atomic attack on Japan, it showed that he is well aware of world affairs and the Khalifa's sympathy and love for people is commendable.
Then a Japanese friend said that today's speech proved that Ahmadiyyat Islam is a very powerful and peace-loving religion. Most Japanese people think that Islam is a bad religion, but I testify that your Khalifa is only peace. The Khalifa's saying that the mistakes made seventy years ago should not be repeated. Whatever he said, he spoke very truly and based on reality.
Then a Japanese friend expressed his feelings like this. He says that today, after listening to the address of the Khalifa of the Jama'at, I learned what a difference there is between ISIS and real Muslims. Whatever apprehensions or worries I had in my heart have all been removed and what he said was absolutely right that we are moving toward a third world war and the Khalifa drew our attention to our responsibilities that we should make every possible effort to stop this war.
Then a lady says that many people connect Islam with evil, but today I learned that Islam is completely the opposite. Islam is such a religion that promotes peace. She says my age is not that much, so I don't know much about World War II, but I appreciate the sympathy and love that the Imam of Jama'at Ahmadiyya has expressed toward our nation. Then a Japanese friend said that in today's address of the Khalifa of the Jama'at, there was a very important message for all of us, and the message was that in this era, the weapons and bombs are far more dangerous and deadly than in the past era. The Khalifa said that this is not the time to incite one another but to express love for one another and this is the time to create unity. The Khalifa especially drew our attention, we Japanese, to our responsibilities because we know what the devastations of war are. The Khalifa said that Japan should, keeping its history before it, stand at the forefront to prevent all kinds of disorder.
Then similarly, a friend expressed his impressions, his feelings (like this) that you have come to invite the Japanese toward the teachings of peace and the truth of Islam. Generally, we do not have many chances to meet Muslims, but I feel proud that today I met a Muslim leader. He says we do not know when war will happen. I thought war would happen. But now I think we can stop this war, but for this we will have to act on the words of the Khalifa. Then he says there is no hesitation in saying that the true teachings of Islam as the Khalifa is presenting are better for our country.
A journalist said that this message is actually a message of peace. You drew Japan's attention to play its role in establishing peace and stopping war. You are absolutely right. This is the need of the hour. I greatly appreciate that you feel our pain that we suffered from atomic attacks.
A Japanese Muslim friend, Ismail Hirano, says I am a Muslim but I have not heard such words from any Muslim scholar. Whether history or the devastations of war, you stated everything. I read the Quran but despite that, I do not know all those things that you stated. Then he said, " I was very happy that the Khalifa explained Islamic teachings with references from the Holy Quran and these references were not just like that but based on facts. No one could say that the Khalifa is not representing Islam; rather, the Khalifa of Jama'at Ahmadiyya stated whatever he stated according to the references of the Holy Quran and explained that this is the real Islam. He says I had never known such a beautiful explanation of Islam in my life before. He says I had never thought about a third world war before, but now I have realized that a third world war is truly a danger for the world and as a Muslim, I am grateful to Khalifatul Masih.
The president of a large car manufacturing company said that all your words are a course of action for the whole world. Then another friend, who is a business advisor and also a poet, met me. He had written a book about peace and love and said that what I had written in the book, you have put a seal on it today.
Similarly, there are many people who expressed their impressions. So on one hand, those who listen to our message express that Islam is truly a religion of peace, and on the other hand, some of our Western politicians here are expressing that there is something or other of extremism in Islamic teachings, which is why Muslims are extremists. They do not think what percentage of Muslims are supporting these extremists. By saying such things that there is extremism in Islamic teachings, whether these politicians are from the UK or elsewhere, these people will also turn peace-loving Muslims against themselves and then disorder will arise. Therefore, Western politicians whose views about Islam are that there is harshness and extremism in it should reflect and should not issue statements without thinking. And those Ahmadis who have relations with these people should explain to them that at this time, for the world and for world peace, it is necessary to speak with wisdom and prudence. Therefore, do not give such statements that spread disorder in the world. May Allah also give these people wisdom.
By the grace of Allah, as I have stated, very positive results appeared from the mosque's inauguration and the tour. May Allah also give ability to the Jama'at of Japan that they continue to spread the wide introduction that has occurred due to this mosque and also try to live up to the expectations that the Japanese have from Jama'at Ahmadiyya and also try to spread the message of Ahmadiyyat there as soon as possible according to the desire of the Promised Messiah علیہ الصلوٰۃ والسلام. The malice and animosity of the mullahs, as I have also stated, expressions of which occur in Pakistan from time to time. Seeing the progress of the Jama'at, the fire of their jealousy keeps burning.
Here I also want to state that in recent days, a cruel and very brutal expression also occurred in Jhelum in Pakistan from these mullahs and extremists, where the factory of Ahmadi owners of a chipboard factory was set on fire and their effort was to burn alive the Ahmadi workers and owners inside. But it is the grace of Allah that they could not succeed in this, but in any case, there was financial loss. These people think that in this way they can eliminate Ahmadiyyat. They can snatch away the spirit of faith of Ahmadis. They can distance them from Ahmadiyyat. About those who set fires, Allah has stated in the Holy Quran that if these people do not repent, then for them is the fire of hell and the punishment of fire.
As far as Ahmadis are concerned, in such harsh circumstances, when there are such severe conditions, instead of their faith decreasing or ending, it increases. In '74 also, these people set fires and tried to put Ahmadis in trials, but none of the wishes of those who set fires and those who tried to put Ahmadis in trials could be fulfilled. We saw that what was in their hearts remained yearnings in their hearts. We saw those who were to make Ahmadis hold begging bowls themselves begging. This is Allah's treatment of the Jama'at. So these trials do not shake our faith but strengthen it. If there is financial loss, Allah makes it complete. This is not such a thing. There are countless Ahmadis who went through these trials and Allah blessed them more than before. If there was a loss to these owners, then this too will be completed Insha'Allah Ta'ala. This chipboard factory belonged to Sahibzada Mirza Munir Ahmad, the son of Hazrat Sahibzada Mirza Bashir Ahmad (May Allah be please with him), and after his death, his children were its owners. I am pleased that the expression that should be from a believer on such losses, these people made that expression and words of gratitude kept coming from their mouths. Allah also protected the lives and property of their Ahmadi workers and saved them and also saved women and children. May He protect their honor. Mirza Nasir Ahmad Tariq, who is the eldest son of Mirza Munir Ahmad, was the head of this factory. He lived right inside it. Similarly, his son who also works in the factory, his house was also inside the factory. The son had left for Lahore an hour before the attackers came in connection with his wife's treatment, so he was not present there, but Mirza Nasir Ahmad and his wife were at home. When the rioters started the siege and burning, they also attacked his house and broke the doors and windows of the houses and came inside. They set fire all around, but in any case, Allah was to protect. At this time, the police arrived which did not stop these attackers, but in any case, somehow they got them out of the house through the back doors and then, taking them out of the factory wall, these people kept walking in the forest for quite some time and when they reached a place, then they got a ride from where they reached a safe place. Similarly, many Ahmadi workers who were there also kept hiding here and there in the forest. The Khuddam later found them somehow and took them to safe places. There was a security in-charge at their gate. His name is Qamar Ahmad. The police also arrested him. He is in jail. A very severe charge has also been filed against him. May Allah also arrange for his release and may He also give judges the ability to be just. Similarly, Mirza Nasir Ahmad was also in a way under house arrest by the police and later, after getting a bond that he will not go anywhere and when the police come, he will go, the police guard was removed from him. As if the attackers were given a free hand and all those who were attacked became criminals. Mirza Nasir Ahmad is also Amir of Jhelum district. From the way the attack happened, it seems that this was a plan beforehand because being an Amir, there are some exposures, there is work to be done which he did and they thought that if we catch the Amir, then all the other Ahmadis might run away on their own. In any case, this was their plan beforehand. No one inside the factory knew what was happening and it became difficult for them to save their lives and escape from there, but the attackers also arranged bulldozers. They gathered hundreds, in fact thousands of people. They also brought fire-setting equipment and kept gathering there for quite some time. But the police did not come and even when the police came or other law enforcement agencies also came, they came very late when the fire had been set. In any case, it is also their kindness that they took one or two people, including the owner, out and took them away, saving them from the rioters.
Mirza Naseer Ahmad's daughter-in-law wrote to me, she also lived there in the factory. She says that when I went to meet the wife of Qamar, on whom this case has been filed and the charge of desecrating the Quran has been applied, I was surprised that Qamar's wife was meeting me with such a smile as if nothing had happened, even though, as I said, there is a very severe charge on her husband. In any case, may Allah increase their courage and patience and may He also bring the enemies to their consequences.
The patience and gratitude expressed by Mirza Naseer Ahmad's wife and daughter-in-law and their children is also commendable. I was worried that in such circumstances, a word of ingratitude might come out of anyone's mouth, but from his daughter-in-law's letter, from his son's letter, and I myself also spoke with Mirza Nasir Ahmad and similarly from the letters of their various close relatives and loved ones that I have received, it is evident that these people have expressed complete pleasure before Allah. And by being in a blood relationship with the Promised Messiah علیہ السلام, they have also shown an example of performing this patience and gratitude. May Allah reward them. Wealth is something that comes and goes, as I said, the God who gave before will give now too and Insha'Allah He can give more and will give more.
May Allah also acquit them all from false cases and especially Qamar, who was the in-charge of the security gate, on whom, as I said, a very severe charge of desecrating the Quran has been filed. Whereas if anyone has a sense of the honor and respect of the Holy Quran most, it is an Ahmadi.
In any case, in one respect, it is also a pleasant thing that this time in Pakistan, this change has been seen that some non-Jama'at people have also raised their voices against this injustice and there was a TV program in which the DPO and politicians there expressed that they will do justice and will catch the criminals. Those who did the program, whoever was the compere or whoever was conducting the program, he also spoke openly against this injustice.
Similarly, after setting fire to this factory, they also attacked the mosques in two of our small Jama'ats, Kala Gujran and Mahmoodabad. One mosque has been sealed. First, the mullahs attacked the mosque, then took out the mosque's prayer lines and equipment outside, set fire to it, and then washed it and went and prayed there. Later the police or Elite Force took them out and put a lock there. It is not currently in their possession. These two Jama'ats are also in considerable danger. May Allah keep all the Ahmadis in that area safe there. May Allah also establish justice in Pakistan and may Allah provide better means of livelihood for those workers who were working there in the factory, whose livelihood has now ended.
